I couldn't with a straight face say I'm confident in tonight's game but this is a game that should be easy for the players to show up for. If our stars don't look like stars tonight it will get ugly fast even with Demko trying to save the day. Having said that I have a feeling it's gonna be a playoff type game with the Canucks winning 4-3. Peteys gonna rip one through Koskinen.

it’s the systems - the coaching 

 

we are too easy to play against too predictable too easy to defend
 

 

 

 

Dump and chase = we lose the puck on most zone entries or get lousy scoring chances
Standing still on the powerplay = predictable plays that take forever to set up and are easy to break up
Passive collapsing box on penalty kill = they can spend as long as they want in our zone with no pressure and set up the perfect play

Its all just so painful.

Using a passive, PK D structure 5v5 is a very close 2nd though.

Can't tell if this is tongue in cheek....but this is likely part of it.  When you're losing and struggling you aren't enjoying it.  You're overthinking, tentative and a step behind.  If they find a bit of success and can relax and enjoy the game out there, it'll likely be a better momentum generator (in the right direction).  This stuff can spiral downward pretty quickly.  

I think the biggest thing is that Green needs to stick with lines. He can’t run them for 2-5 shifts then start scrambling them.  He’s not allowing any chemistry to develop and he’s not riding a hot hand. I’ve seen it 100x before and it appears that Green has lost the room. 
 

 Hopefully the boys get er going soon. Otherwise I think this team will waste yet another season trying to realize that they need a new coach for this team that is very high skilled and has so much potential.

I’ve thought that too... it blows me away that we’ve brought in skilled players to play dump n Chase hockey.

I think that's more connected to Green's lack of adaptability than the skill level of the roster.

I think that’s a fair assessment. I think Gadjovich and Mcewen were better adapted to play his style. It’s too bad that he decided to cut them.
