Sorry, but in what world is Podkolzin not a core player?

probably every world? at this point of his career he's not yet a core.. he'll probably end up being one. but 26 points in 80 games doesn't scream core player atm.. if podkolzin is a core with 26 points 79 games.. then i guess is a core player too after his rookie year right? 27 points 56 games.. and look at where he is now..

For Pods to become part of our core he’d need to be a 30+20 Power forward who is a beast on the walks and away from the puck.

Is “then” his first name or is it Mr. theniguess? I wouldn’t say that’s core numbers no…. :)

Wonder with Carolina losing to the Rangers and Brind'Amour calling out their lack of goal scoring if Carolina would not be the ideal trading partner for Brock if were moving him.

And in form Brock could score 30+ on that team and they could negotiate down his cap with the lower tax bracket.  Could negotiate something around Necas + an add maybe, or one of their many young D.  Could even consider a package with Miller too since that is flavour of the week.

Seems like it could have potential ?

I love Necas. Alot of speed and upside to his game.

Yeah, it's either a long term deal or the QO.  He's not gonna sign a bridge deal of some sort.  Why bother?  If he took the QO, and took the QO again next year, that's 2 years at $7M+ already.  Then he hits UFA.

He takes the bridge because if he wants to bet on himself and open himself up for a bigger payday. If he thinks he can be a 40 goal player, and improve, you take 3 years and get PAID next contract, especially because by then, the cap will be moving up again....

if the team's mold is fast and big.. then literally half the team doesn't fit the mold.. they are all tiny and not blazing fast.. not a single core player fits the fast and big category

Podz, Miller and Bo do

Isn't it the same thing if he takes his QO? Why bother locking himself in for 3 years to "bet" on himself for a 3 year period when he could simply bet on himself for 1 year and get PAID anyways.  3 years also eats one of his UFA years.  I just don't see any logical reason for a bridge deal.  It's either long term for the security or else take the QO for a year.

bo is not fast.. miller is not slow but ain't fast.. podz is the only one that is actually fast and big.. but he's not considered a core player yet he might be this coming season if he takes the next step.. the only one that plays big out of those 3 is Miller.. the rest of them won't even throw a hit unless they absolutely have to

Ok 1 lol literally need to make and turnover the entire team if they want to play fast and big.

Well, as we established, not the entire team.

I have been pushing for a bigger restructuring of the team primarily for this reason, need more Podz.

lol for a guy that always had issues with his skating when he first entered the league he has made tremendous strides.. but fast? lol he's not known for his speed and never will..

Bo is fast.  His top end speed is very good.  He’s not quick.

Boeser is both slow and not quick.  He needs to lose 10-20 pounds.

He literally went through the entire St. Louis team and scored a highlight reel goal.  How can you say he is not fast?  He is not Pavel Bure but BO is a very good skater and has great acceleration which was taught to him by his power skating coach...

that was a nice move.. but no one in there was skating anywhere near the top speed.. the forwards on the pp wasn't even skating.. and he beat out a forward skating backward with a nice fake.. literally no one there is skating at top speed including bo.. he's not a fast skater doesn't have the high end speed nor the pullaway capability but he is not a slow skater either.. he's prolly slightly above average
