[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade

Pro rated, Myers salary remaining for this season would be sub 3M. approx.

A decent price for an Eastern team going up against the Bruins. Especially if they are needing some size. Myers would be good for someone's playoff run and is a hard nosed playoff performer.

Next season cash pay 1M.

Next season would be the cap struggle. (Can they trade him back?)

We get a 2nd and a prospect.

What about Carolina?  They could get Myers and make Chatfield their 7th D.  Having Burns, Pesce and Myers on the right side in the playoffs might help them to go up against Boston.  They have tons of cap space for next year to keep Myers for one more year.

We could retain $2 million if we need to...

Good idea. Especially for all the late hits, face washes and scrum crap. Myers would help a lot. He was competitive as hell last playoff for us.

yet nobody can actually confirm this, they can discuss it and suggest it all day every day but nobody can tell anyone here with conclusive 110% evidence that this is fact. I mean management continues to say its not the case, then again nobody listens to management here anyways.

Media confirming this is not legit, other NHL people outside of the organization also are not legit in terms of confirming this. Just conjecture that is fun, something to rip on the guy about when not yelling at him to sell the team lol. Oh, and if you pay hundreds of millions of dollars to buy a franchise, then continue to pour millions upon millions to the point money is no object here at this time. By all means sit in on meetings, make it known you would like consultation on big dollar dealings, make suggestions of what you want for your team, has every right and don't think 31 other owners don't mingle, meddle, overstep, or just be active and interactive within their club management groups.

Do people actually think every owner in the league isn't doing the same thing?

Carolina doesn't really need defense. They need top 6 scoring (wing) and/or an upgrade at 2C. I wonder if a team like Florida (though currently on the outside of the bubble of the wild card race) would have interest in him though? Their depth on D is paper thin.

Trying to think what other teams (Toronto obviously) are lacking D depth... Maybe PIT.

That Dermott trade was a kick in the gut mainly because we just watched the previous regime waste so many picks and players like that… for example the Linden Vey trade lol

Yeah, this team has never recovered from not being able to draft Roland McKeown.

Would have hurt a lot less had injuries not derailed him so much he was consistently scoring at a 40-50 point pace until the injuries piled up.

Yeah, but still would have hurt.  We lost out on a top pairing RHD.

Lol true enough. Although, it’s not a matter of who they didn’t draft, it’s a matter of giving up second round picks in the first place for another team’s low impact players. Vey and Dermott were clearly never going to be home runs, yet a second round pick could be. Not the highest likelihood, but solid players are selected in the second round every year.

We need way more trades that help.Seems there aren't any yet.Hope tdl this year Myers,BB,Schenn and maybe Miller are gone.

Any three of those should help us.

Schenn maybe Burroughs or Bear likely will be the only trades.
