Florida actually gave up a first for Ben Chiarot, lol.

It's called getting in postition to win the Cup.  The Loser Leafs, who desperatly need quality and tough D, should have been in on this.  But no, Dumbass thinks Littleman and Sandman are tough D.  LMFAAOAROTFFYLLF.

Good return.  Leafs and oilers  fans were saying he wasn’t worth a 3rd. Lol.

Well, he's not, unless you're associated with a team that will make it out of the first round....

Gorton, doing a scorch earth type rebuilt - selling high, on anyone he can trade.   Focusing in, on both deep upcoming drafts

Chiarot  was a pending UFA who expressed interest in playing south of the border for family reasons.  Not exactly scorched earth

Chiarot is a hell of a good player.  He skates great, has excellent skill, and is mean as hell.  Florida saw Tampa win two Cups in a row because of their D.  Very smart move.

People put way to much value on picks and prospects.

Different sport I know but the blue Jay's imo have done an almost perfect re-build and trading a ton of prospects  (can't trade picks) has been the last piece of the puzzle.

They have just a disgusting team built around the best of their best prospects surrounded with stars brought  in via trade using many of their top prospects to get them and topped off with big UFA signings.  They traded a kid today that was considered by many to be one of the top 3 pitchers in the last draft but fell to 17th because of Tommy Jon surgery. Last year traded a guy taken 4th overall in 2020 but both trades brought back legit superstars that will help now and that's how prospects for the most part should be viewed as, trade chips. It's why you always take bpa,

The only prospects or picks that should be off the table are players of Petey and Quinn caliber and top 3 picks.

Florida got a guy that should help them and make them a better team for a magic bean years if ever away, plus look at their division, they are in for a bloodbath with the Canes and TB at some point.

Don't know about the context, you shared but Gorton, is creating cap space, acquiring picks and I don't think he is done - perhaps, a clearance sale is more appropriate.

If Florida doesn't win this is such an overpayment.

If you get shot and die with bullets left in the chamber that's losing.  Got to go all in when the time is right.  It's right (and now) for FLA and other teams.  The Loser Leafs should have done whatever it took to get Chiarot.  Stupid miss. Stupid Dubass.

Exactly why the Canucks need to be sellers........though I know they wont

We are not a team that should be selling, playoffs or not.

Pretty much any player with value we move can't be replaced internally and picks from 22 and 23 are not going to help anytime soon.

Say we move Brock, who the hell replaces his goals? It creates a hole that needs to be filled which is easier said than done or we are simply becoming worse.

This team should be moving money around with the intent to improve, not get younger.

Hockey trades only.

Yup the continuation of The  JB era the lure of a brief post season appearance shouldn't out way the long term gains of doing the right thing. Just ask Jb.

the Nucks should be sellers and buyers.
find a home for Myers pearson Dickenson polman hunt chiasson possibly motte and if the price is right boeser or miller.
set us up for long term success.

the more chips that get taken out of play the higher the price of desperation will be.

He isn’t worth a 3rd.

He’s a 3rd pairing player, playing 1st pairing minutes. He takes a lot of unnecessary penalties, and his xGA/60 is 8th amongst defensemen in the league.

The guy is big mean and played on a team with 8 wins in their first 40+ games and I hate the Habs but man they have been decimated in net and thats gonna screw up a lot of stats.

On Florida he's gonna get easier mins with great players around him. As a panther fan I think this was great.

you don't sell for draft picks, you sell for young rosters players.  And it's not about replacing his goals, it'sabout using that salary and roster spot to bring a little balance to other areas.

Yup.  The Panters booked their ticket to the Cup Final.  They will lose to us, but at least they went for it!  :towel:
