What ends up happening is that we lose assets for nothing, either due to injury or just the fact that we can't afford them (ala Benning). Signing Miller makes no sense for a team that can't even beat Buffalo at home, and it was a MUST WIN game, if they hoped to make the playoffs. It was a good run, but we were simply too deep in the hole. The firing of Green came just a bit too late. Sell Miller to the highest bidder. Sell Motte. Rebuild/retool through the assets. Who knows? Maybe we'll surprise with a superstar prospect next year. It's not about panicking.
