I think the Caps might put up more of a fight than many expect. But still, Florida is just too strong. And they'll get even stronger once Ekblad is back.

Is Vladmir Ovechkin playing?

 

I would be picking Florida even if he was not.  But by less than 1 win to Washington.  I like Fehervary as a great young D for Caps.  I like lotsa great things on Florida.  Mackenzie Weegar defies logic how good he is at a late age (27?) before being a star. Lundell and Reinhart are not even their best forwards. Hubey is on fire, Barks best C in the business at this moment in my opinion. 

 

Flo in 5, 6 if Ovi plays and is healthy.

Cheering for Florida. They deserve some playoff success given their rather dismal history since entering the league.

 

Plus it just makes me want to "double down" on cheering for Florida given Ovechkin and the recent "pro-Russian" issues are on the other team.

Florida in 6. Caps have the experience, but I don't think it will be enough to overcome Florida.

 

Will be nice to see the Panthers finally win a round.

Cap's will fight tooth and nail, but the Cats will win in 7.

Capitals could make things interesting, but the Panthers should be able to beat them.

Caps are the heavy Underdogs. Nothing to lose play free and fast and hit hard. Tommy Wilson gonna run Gudas?

Don't see the Caps going far this time, this will be a high-scoring affair but Florida's defence will nullify Washington's top unit well, whereas Washington dont have a deep enough defence to deal with Florida's top end or even 3rd line players.

Just gotta go Panthers in this one. Their firepower is phenomenal this season, and I think the scoring depth is going to be the difference against Washington.

Cats in 5. Huberdeau, Barkov, Lundell have all been great this year. Weegar, Ekblad are rock solid in their back end. Additions of Chiarot, Giroux has just solidified this team’s depth. Knight, Bob are excellent too

Obviously the smart pick is Florida. They’re a juggernaut. However, Washington Is my east team and Ovi my favorite player of all time. 
I’m predicting (with my heart not my brain) a Caps win in 7 and a President’s trophy curse for the Cats. Double OT game 7 dagger from Oshie.
