Not a fan of Tocchet. Probably gambles on the Nux to lose.

Ex-NHL coach Tocchet pleads guilty in gambling ring

CBC Sports · Posted: May 25, 2007 12:01 PM EDT | Last Updated: May 25, 2007

There is a lot of content on YouTube of Tocchet and TNT and he’s a great personality and his philosophy on coaching is really great. He’s a 3 time Stanley cup champion. He knows what is required of a winning team.

His interview with Spittin Chicklets is also a really great listen.

At this point, I’d have more respect for management if they let Bruce go from this circus show. Publicly calling out your coach the way they did — did some irreparable damage, subliminally.

I really wish they'd let Bruce coach the rest of the season, let him finish his term. My concern is that Tocchet will be hired and they'll start winning some games down the stretch.

They are hoping for another brucey bump to get us into the playoff picture, and i have a feeling they might just get it. We wilk still miss the playoffs though

I tried finding some Tocchet gifs so we could laugh at him a bit. But there's basically none. I am not sure if thats a good thing or not. But seriously , lets give him a chance. Hopefully he doesnt figure it out till next year, so we can get a draft pick

I guess instead of picking top 5 and moving assets to build for the future the management is content trying to draft 15 OA and moving assets to squeak into the playoffs only to just get in and get swept in the first round or miss out and get a pick in no mans land again.

... and so it continues, this is the sordid history of the Canucks and the life of a lifelong Canuck fan.

He’s not an idiot, I don’t know where that narrative came from.

He’s a players coach, and went on the record saying he never went more than 3 days without talking to each and every player. He also said you can win with any type of system, it’s about getting the players to buy into it. Every player needs to be treated a little different, but he went on to say that he expects players to stick up for another and lead each other. He doesn’t put up with any of that pouting stuff.

His gambling incident is not reflective of the type of person he is. He’s a young coach, has cup pedigree and experience, and is eager to coach.

If this happens, I will be so disgusted with this management team.

The lack of respect for Boudreau is a bad look for this team.  It shows a

management that is lacking in decency and class.  Just let Bruce play out

his contract and make the changes in the offseason.

Coach Quennevilles suppression of rape allegations in a race to win a cup is also not reflective if the type of person he is and at least he has a solid winning record as a coach.

If we're taking a coach who may have potentially match fixed his games in a sports gambling operation why not stop picking and choosing what we're willing to overlook and take Quenneville.  We already hired Tallon afterall

Or sack Bruce and appoint one of the assistants as acting coach.

Find a new guy out of all the coaches that will be available, in the off season don't just pick a guy now.

Both incorrect- the actions those two took ARE reflective of who they are.

They DID those acts- means that is part of who they are.

no hand waving can take those facts away.

Not even remotely the same. Also, you know who else was involved in that? Gretzky, his wife, and Travis Green. They made it out, Rick took heat, but he wasn’t the ring leader.

I’m not about to debate morality here, but knowing someone was being continuously raped and abused and turning a blind eye to it is far worse than any type of “match fixing”.

It's time to play the game: Find Your Clown Name!

It's like the Find Your Elf Name, or Find Your Porn Name, but slightly different.

Francesco, Jim, and Allvin, the way to play is very simple: rather than taking this initial or that initial and matching them to funny names, you take your first name and your last name, and voila; it's that easy!
