Barzal's injury makes the 1st interesting...right now it's 16th overall which isn't great but surely this will peg them down a notch to hopefully 13-14th overall. We can snag the first defenceman with that pick, whoever we chose.

They could completely fold too. They haven’t played that great This past couple weeks despite getting points. Even the penguins win they were kind of getting outplayed.

The one constant was kind of Barzal who helped keep them in games.

A lot of teams behind them also have a lot of games in hand. Enough teams to put them at 12th or maybe lower.

Should be an interesting few weeks with how teams around them do and how they do without their top offensive forward.

This years 13-15 pick would/could be great.

Next years unprotected pick could be greater.

If Islanders don't get into the playoffs this year it may be many more years of no playoffs for Bo.

The most bizarre thing is that we've won pretty much every faceoff match up since Bo's trade. Wonder what that's about. Miller and Petey have really stepped it up. Makes no sense.

We're still a dreadful team but Petey and Miller have elevated their game since Bo left which is no surprise, and you could argue that Beauvillier is replacing his scoring.

Miller's good on faceoffs but wasn't used for that role much because he's been playing the wing so much this season. My main concern was Petey but he's been playing centre all year and continuing to get better at faceoffs every game. So really the only tradeoff for faceoffs is Miller taking over most of Bo's role on faceoffs, and maybe Petey gets a bit extra too. They've filled that void nicely.

It's unfortunate Barzal is injured, best of luck and a speedy recovery.

Where's everyone that was claiming Horvat is a 1c? lets see how he makes his line mates better with Barzal gone.

Beauvillier is outscoring Horvat for less then half of his next contract.

(flip Beauvillier 2024 tdl?)

yes I think that if Beauvillier is flipped at 2024 tdl he can bring back a late 1st. especially if he keeps his play level up.

Got the Isles top prospect ( i think)

and a 1st round pick.

Lou lame got fleeced by the Canucks and Horvats agent.

Let's not get carried away. I'm definitely impressed by Beauvillier. He's done a lot better than I thought he would. On the other hand, Beauvillier was a polarizing player with the Isles. He'd have these stretch of great games and then he'd cool down and make head-scratching Miller-esque games. We haven't seen the latter yet.

nothing i said was false or incorrect...?

Petey & Miller are better then Horvat, fight me over it!?:frantic::lol:

I've mentioned the internal salary structure in place with the Canucks, Next season Horvat would be the highest paid Canuck by 500k.

Beauvillier is outscoring Horvat, who was brought in by the Isles at a ridiculous price to help to try and fix said problem.

Isnt it ironic, dont ya think?

Isles fans have voiced their displeasure with Horvat so far. they thought he would do better on a better team, ironically he's put up less points per game since going to long Isle.

Im not sure where this "Bull Horvat" name came from but that is not his game, at all. Isles fans are a little surprised at how much he avoids contact. ( they're a heavy, physical team)

The knock on Beau was that he didn’t gel well with Barzel and wasn’t a top 6 fixture.  So for now, it seems he’s found chemistry with EP40.  Although I think that’s more due to EP40 than Beau.

To be fair, it wouldn't be the first streaky player we've had but, for me at least, I don't think that really matters. In my opinion, he was the roster player who came back in the Horvat deal to make that trade work cap-wise. I don't really see reason to expect him to play like he has but it certainly has been a nice surprise.

he has also been playing every minute with Petey!!!  I want to see AB score, drive play, and generate chances playing while playing with other members of the lineup.  Right now, this reeks of management trying to get a PR win by inflating his stats.  Honestly, I'd rather Garland and Boeser have their stats inflated so we can trade them for so value and move on.  I'm worried we are going to end up extending ABto a long-term high dollar value AAV if he keeps up this PPG pace to the end of the season.

Who’s 2C signed for $5M?

Who is Bostons 2c?

Bergeron 2.5m

Krejci 1m

Zacha 3.500/ 4.750

Coyle 5.250m

Who is Tampas 2c?

Stamkos 8.5

Point 9.5

Cirelli 6.250

Who is Toronto 2c?

Matthews 11.6

Tavares 11m

ROR 1.875

Who is Carolinas 2c?

Aho 8.460

Staal 6

Kotkaniemi 4.820m

Necas 3m

I've never said 2c are only 5 mil max, I have said very few 2c make over 7m unless you're on the same level as Crosby/ Malkin, Backstrom/ Kuznetsova.

Thus having 2 C who had 99 and on pace for over 100 pt seasons over paid non ppg player when he played for the canucks makes sense.

Horvat is not a 3c nor is he a 1c. he is a 2B face-off, tip in, pp specialist.

He is paid as a 1B C.

Sure, if Bo re-signed for 5 mil with term I'd be an ecstatic ghost.

But alas there were many factors and at the end of the day Bo signed for security and his family.

Im sure New York State is safer then B.C. or anywhere in Canada for that matter.:P

So you wouldn’t want Bo back at $5M??

That was my joke proposal that you responded to.

Basically it becomes…

NYI get Boeser

VAN gets Bo (at $5M), Beau, and Raty.

Hence fleecing Lou…

:P

How about Bo for Miller straight up who says no?

Well…

Bo next contract is at $8.5M and Miller next contract is at $8M

I think NYI either has to retain or add a 2nd round draft pick.

NO sir I do not want Horvat, even at 5m. him coming back would cause alot of turmoil in the locker room.

the room is PETEYS & HUGHES, the future of the squad.

Miller is the grumpy uncle who'd go to jail for his family, means good but often errors.

Schenn is the cool uncle, been through alot and still a beauty, wise beyond his years.

I want to trade bb6, think it will be good for him to go out east, especially to closer to his momma and sister.

I forget who it was, an insider was tooting the horn for teams apparently uninterested in bb6 at 6.650x2 more years. said they had to eat 20-25% or only get 3rd back.

**edit just remembered it was Nick Kypreos that regurgitated that gem***

Ok, so we keep him. no one says we have to trade bb6 anywhere for anything less then what the canucks want and that definitely doesn't include retention.

oh no ! the canucks are stuck with a 25 y.o righty who averages 55/65 pts over 82gp for 6.650m for 2 more years?
