To pitt: boeser (650,000 retained), Burroughs

to van: pettersson, 2nd round pick 2023

I’d like to have both Joseph and pettersson but I just don’t see pitt giving both up and blowing up the left side of their D

Have to think a guy like Rathbone would be moved in the summer with a move like this.

On paper, rathbone is an often inured fringe NHL’er so I think he could use a change of scenery and we wouldn’t missing out on much from what we’ve seen so far

I agree I think Boeser will be moved Friday to Pittsburgh..would even retain 1 million...     Lets make this deal.....

Vancouver get Petttersson 6'3 --27 yrs old in May -- 2 yrs @ 4 million -- will be #2 D man

Joseph 23 -6'2 - drafted 23 O/A 2017 -- Good upside could be #4 guy soon  ELC 1 yr remaining..

Like this trade --Would even add Rathbone to make it work..

They need to add dmen, not shed them

What role does Garland play on a contender? There are reasons why we are trying to dumperoo him. He’s small, and slow. He doesn’t drive a line. He can’t push play through the neutral zone. He’s to small and slow for PK. He’s too small, and can’t shoot well enough for the PP.  He’s not rough and tumble enough and is paid too much for a checking role. Plus, he’s just not good in that role.

Mason Raymond 2.0 he is

Adding Joseph 23 ---- Pettersson 26 --

If you have to add Rathbone or someone else to make this great deal just do it...

Pettersson  26 -6'3 --will play 22 mins -- #2 or #3 D man -- good age and value

Joseph  6'2  - 23.  - Can play lots of upside

Hope Vancouver can get a trade like this done....

No to Pettersson. The penguin fans have been dying to dump him for years. He was the most hit guy in the nhl. Can't do special teams. Cant clear in front of the net. They say he is a 4 million dollar 3rd pairing guy. Penguins have to pay big for us to take him. By the way Rutherford is the one who signed him to the crappy over paid contract.

The articles and stuff I reading were begging to get rid of Pettersson so they could keep Marino....

Just throwing this out there:

there was a conversation over the past 48 hrs about our Center position , and having another good Center in F/O’s since Horvat has gone.

Lazar’s stats have risen back closer to his personal best,  he’s presently at 52% .

I think he should be utilized more this way as Horvat was..   only opportunity will bring true or better results..  and he can skate well enough for any line we ice.

This is the time to assess what we have, not just wish for it.

perhaps we already own the specialist we need.
