Popular Post Roberts
Really sad news that John Garrett will be retiring from being the color analyst for the Canucks after this season. I think he deserves an appreciation thread, please share your favorite memories of John Garrett from the many years he has been with the team.

Kevin Biestra
Sad to see him go but he has sure as hell earned the right to relaxation in his golden years as much as any Canuck ever has. How he and Richard Brodeur weren't completely grey by 1984 having to play half the season in net against the Smythe division is beyond me. Honestly, I wouldn't be totally opposed to a Pat Quinn style Ring of Honour for the combination of playing for the team and serving it in other capacities than on the ice for decades. 1

Popular Post Kevin Biestra
Oh and you wanted a John Garrett memory... 1982 playoffs, the year King Richard took the Canucks to the final. John Garrett was the backup for the Nordiques. Their starter Dan Bouchard got hurt and Garrett had to step in and become the starter (the same way Stan Smyl had to become the captain those playoffs when Kevin McCarthy got injured). Garrett was a significant part of getting the Nordiques to the third round that year. The Nordiques were who the Islanders defeated to get to the final against us. If you take the Islanders dynasty out of the equation...it could have been Brodeur vs. Garrett in the Stanley Cup final that year. Also for the first two decades of the Canucks' existence, John Garrett and Charlie Hodge were the only two goalies to be above .500 for their career as a Canuck. 4 1
King Heffy
One of the best in the business still. Wish him a long retirement with all the ketchup he can handle. Thanks for everything, Cheech. 1

Popular Post CRAZY_4_NAZZY
The team gets rid of Bruce was gut wrenching. The team trading Captain Bo was devastating. But this took a new level of sadness for me. Going to miss Cheech. 5 1
