Dallas takes this. Vegas looked better than they are beating the Oilers. Oilers were the most overrated, one-dimensional teams in the playoffs.

It really is sad, isn’t it? Dallas, Vegas, Carolina, and Miami? Those seem like All Star game locations not home to the Stanley Cup this year.

Oh well, next year it’s Vancouver. I can feel it in my bones.

At least Dallas and Carolina have a long history that stretches back to the North Stars and Whalers.

I mean of those teams Carolina is most deserving. 
 

They’re getting it done without three of their star players. Brind’Amour is the best coach in the league for my money. Would like to see him get another cup.

Dallas has weak goaltending, Vegas in 5.

VGK has "gamers" including the goalie. They also have the depth and every line can play. Defense wins championships and they know how to shut down team offense, shutting down McDavid/Draisaitl was a sight to see. Another plus is they don't take a lot of penalties. Their team game is all there and they don't just rely on one or two players.

Vegas in 6.

I hope Stars advance. I really dislike Vegas as an organization. They treat whoever they no longer need like crap and continue to attract players to go there because its Vegas. They also seem to get away with blatant cap circumvention...

 

I'm also cheering for Pavelski. What a warrior he is at the age of 38 and has continued to be an elite playoff performer. I hope he can finally win the cup this year (although I think the cup will go to the east again this yr). 

 

I don't particularly like Dallas as a team but they deserve to go to the conference final in my opinion. They've built through drafting well and has stayed competitive year after year.

This should be a good, proper playoff series. Notice how all the silly high-flying offensive teams are knocked out, the real boys can play now. Solid defence and goaltending with deep forward structure - that sums up the final 4 teams. 

Heiskanen vs Pietrangelo

Hintz vs Eichel

Ott vs Hill

 

Two very similar teams. Could really go either way but I see it going to 7 games. I think because these teams are so close, goaltending takes the cake and Oettinger is just going to stand on his head.

Remember when people predicted, at the beginning of the season, that Vegas was going to miss the playoffs, that they were too old, had no goaltending, and that we were going to be ahead of them in the standing.
