it's good to be prepared deb

but don't become obsessive

you are still more likely to be hit by a car

ii assume you likely are fairly ok with driving daily

don't lose perspective

if you are feeling a bit panicky

take some comfort

watch usa news videos about trump

and relax in the knowledge that it does now appear

that his past misconduct is known
and likely have negative impact on him sooner then later

Why would you suggest someone watch Trump videos? Do you hate yourself or Deb?

Hopefully this is the worst of it..

Scary for anyone living on a fault

We are quite far from there, but felt some decent movement for a few minutes. Nothing broke, but it feels odd when it goes for a while and then starts to intensify, but then it dies out.

News report said one person had minor injuries, and a few buildings were damaged, so better off than yesterday's weaker one (6.4) where a couple houses burned and a few more injured.

Even though the quakes off Vanc Island preceded the ones in Calif they are saying they aren’t related......

Three earthquakes between 4.7 and 5.1 magnitude were detected north of Vancouver Island Friday morning.

According to Earthquakes Canada, the aftershocks to Wednesday’s quake struck south of Haida Gwaii starting at 5:51 a.m. The second quake was reported at 5:58 a.m. and the third at 6:02 a.m.

Earthquakes Canada said the first had a magnitude of 4.9, the second was 5.1 and the third was 4.7.

No tsunami is expected, Emergency Info B.C. said. There were also no reports of damage and scattered reports from people who said they felt the shaking.

The three quakes come after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake was detected in the same area on Wednesday night. The quakes off the B.C. coast are not linked to the 6.4 magnitude earthquake on Thursday in southern California, the most powerful to hit the state in 20 years.

Not sure what time it is there in Japan @samurai but there was a very large earthquake close by.

There have been a lot of quakes around the world lately.

That is big, seeing it now, close to the North of Japan.  Didn't feel it in Tokyo, but mag of 1 in the North.  Perhaps a deep one.  The 2011 one was 9.0 but the killer was the Tsunami.  The actual earthquake did minimal damage.  I was close to the epicenter of a 8.0  in 99- I will not lie it was scary.  Things start shaking and you are waiting for it to stop but then it keeps getting worse and worse and a  second is like a minute.  People just stand there cause they go into shock and you forget what you are supposed to do - I was one of those people - deer in the headlights.

Asteroids whizzing by earth, pandemics, collapsing world economy... A massive earthquake would fit right in.
