The team slumped. Not sure how it can solely be singled out as LE being the problem here. I get LE is not living up to his contract, but he wasn't the only problem during the losing streak. Not enough to warrant the end of his time just yet.

I never said solely...

He slowed down his line and made it significantly less effective.  That also has a ripple effect on the rest of the lineup as it affects the pace of how the team plays and how the opposition has to defend.

.600 hockey without him .444 hickey with him.  A crap ton of goals without him in the lineup, goal depicts with him.

The description of the way our team was playing was “relentless” with all four lines coming at you.  When you reduce that to three lines coming at you and being able to rest when the 4th one plays has an impact.

.444 hickeys is better then zero ones - if your a teenager.   Joking aside - if numbers matter to you just check out his plus minus relative to his teammates over the time he’s played.   Just because he’s on the ice doesn’t mean they forget how to shoot and score (which was the main issue during our four game skid).  What is a goal depicts anyways?  New stat? Ok I’m teasing.  I spell sh!t wrong all the time.   MAYBE we lost more without him because we didn’t have our best guys playing?   And also because yeah, we for snake bitten.

On the bright side AG looked awesome last night - I know they made their star selections but I’d argue he was our best forward.   He came back and stopped several dangerous scoring chances from happening and was also dangerous himself in the offensive zone.   Personally I’d like to see him get some time in the top six when Sutter is back if he keeps it up.  He was a man possessed last night - EP was good too - but only when it counted (and he made it count of course which does matter).

He's playing with some new custom built shot-blocking pads this season.

Maybe the NHL should follow MLB and stayed with wooden sticks so guys couldn’t shoot so hard?  No way the Smurfs of the league should be shooting it like the big boys.

Bolded part is not correct. Both listed around 200lbs.

if we're in the hunt, we aint trading anyone. entitled to your opinion on if it should happen... but it won't.

Thanks for the correction Yung, it’s funny cause was sure I saw Tanev and Sutter listed not over 180 last season.

Yes, regardless of the “hunt” Benning will trade..  it’ll be any or all of Tanev, Sutter, Stetcher.

The main reason being player progression.

Tanev will retire a canuck, so all the hate minus well stop, hes been very good this year, our best shot blocker, puts his body in danger for the team every game he plays, what more can u expect from a player , hes probably blocked several GREAT goal opportunity's .....hes human, he will have bad games like anyone else, even EP40 has had some bad games...so deal with it.

Good callups, hopefully both get in and help the team win more games

Why is it “hate”..  ??

What is this “retire a Canuck” ? Some kind honorary discharge that fans owe their player favorites?
There are players that need to move on for this team to step forward,. And in the process Re-stock your future with.

Before you know it, we might be doing the same with Brock Boeser in 4 or 5 years..

or we end up with a bunch of Old Joe Thorton types with beards stuck together with Gatorade and Geritol.

The callups are because of injuries. I think you'll be disappointed if you think this is the end of LE. We've similarly called up guys like Chatfield for injury insurance who never saw a game and sent back down. I think one of these guys draws into the lineup and the other sits and LE remains in the lineup whether you like it or not.

So which of these callups do you bench for a soft, lazy, useless floater who has made it abundantly clear he has no business in an NHL lineup?  He can't score, won't hit, and won't even keep his mouth shut when the coach puts him in the press bx where he belongs.  Both these guys badly outplayed our $6 million piece of garbage in training camp, and it sets a bad example to let Eriksson waste more minutes that could be used on players who have some hope of becoming legit NHLers.  Stop rewarding a guy who's been a complete disgrace to the uniform every time he sets foot on the ice.

... who can hate a human pylon?

Apparently Eriksson was our best defensive specialist for the same reasons last season.

100 percent. I wonder if JB and LE have an agreement. JB let's LE finish the year in the NHL, collect his bonus in July, and then LE agrees to retire. I could see this.

As long as he is in the pressbox for every single game, I can live with that.  Do the same as LA did with Kovalcash.

That's just it though. I think the agreement is that LE plays. If it's the means to an end I'm all for it.

Then that's a problem.  Forcing your coach to play a worthless pylon who isn't even good enough to play on a good AHL team and refuses to put in any form of effort isn't setting him up for success.  If I'm Green I'm insisting on getting rid of this waste of oxygen by whatever means necessary.

Throw him in Utica and tell Cull to make his life as miserable as possible.

While I agree that the coach should coach. Travis may well be in on it. One more year of suffering and we lose the cap hit if LE retires. Sounds good to me. If we are lucky enough to have it happen.
