  1. Are there faceoff stats being tracked for the AHL? Tried Googling to see how he was doing but wasn't able to locate anything-- what percentage was he at?
  2. Gotta admit, starting to miss the summer activities (fireworks, night market, outdoor fests) that I had taken for granted.  Hope things are better for everyone!

I hope so too.  I have been at home since March, and have always looked forward to Summer.

Yup missing the bonfires and late night shenanigans with my friends.  One of my last summers to do this until we go our separate ways.

      thankfully

      the recent weather

has made it feel like we are still in early spring

and summer seems a month or 2 away still

so gotta hang in there for a bit till summer arrives this year

i'm thinking it's gonna be late

  3. I think most people can agree with the consensus top-6 Miller - Pete - Toffee Pearson - Bo - Brock Where it gets interesting is definitely the bottom 6. It'd be tough not to at least pencil Jake with Gaudette on the same line since he at least helped Jake break out. That being said, depending on who they match up against I'd be down to see either of these: Jake - Sutter - Gaudette (two straight-line guys in Jake and Sutter, who are physical and shoot-first, plus Sutter can take draws; Gaudette as the setup man) Roussel/ Ferland - Gaudette - Virtanen (Gaudette may not be the best in draws but we again need his play-making skills; the tough wingers can protect him) The 4th line I think 2/3 will be Motte and Beagle, and rightfully so. Motte in particular should have earned his spot with his hustle out there. Beagle of course for his face-off ability, and then whoever plays best out of Sutter/ Roussel/ Ferland (if they aren't on the 3rd line)/ MacEwen/ Loui should get the spot. Edler - Myers Hughes - Tanev (one of Fantenberg/ any of the left handed black aces) - (Stecher*/ Rafferty) => wonder if training camp could produce a challenger for bottom pair spots? Benn (kept as #7 due to his viability on both sides)
  4. Wonder if that's reflective of the trend that'll take place (lower cost deals e.g. for Tanev/ Toffoli/ Markstrom by $1.5-$2 million)? Would be great to fit them all.
  5. Yeah I agree. I think the team should see if it could bundle Stecher's rights with a contract (probably Beagle) and hope Roussel and Sutter have good playoff performances such that they can be movable. That or swap those vets for a young 4th line center who can take draws well but is also lower in upside so he'd stay cheap.
  6. Great... Vegas. This city. Hope it's not led by this lady?!?!?!?! Stay home Pete/ Bo/ Marky/ Quinn/ Brock... Loui you can go
  7. https://www.reviewjournal.com/videos/many-las-vegas-guests-ignoring-covid-19-protocols/ Hardly surprising to see casino guests not abiding to distancing procedures (not that it's a good sight to see), but that's awful considering there's speculation that Vegas has been chosen as a hub city for the Western Conference.
  8. Good for him to get a shot on a big team, and it's probably better to play with NHL cast-offs than on poorer teams. Doubt he'd ever grow up or come back, but hope he can at least become something over there.
  9. Did not expect a big business like Starbucks to side so decisively against BLM... prepare for a PR nightmare

The only food I'd get at Tims is bagels, tim bits, and farmers wraps.

So because the employees still have to adhere to a dress code people think Starbucks is anti BLM?  Mmmmk.

Starbucks company is coming up with their own BLC uniform crests thingys. for their employees.

They want common uniform.  Fake news.

  10. That would be perfect (wishful, but great if it did happen and not 100% out of the realm of possibility) Hopefully Sven also lights it up and rekindles value so we can trade him, Ferland stays healthy for playoffs and is a beast and Sutter recoups value with strong play too. Back to the OP, it's gotta be the best kept secret in Canucks land.
  11. Crazy that the Sens are basically guaranteed to walk away with a franchise player beyond the one they select with their own pick, while the Sharks are bogged down with a 30+ Erik Karlsson who will likely only become more injury prone and who eats up $11 million per. Anyone recall seeing other trades which blew up so badly in the buyer's face?
  12. Looks like the totals in the States have risen again after re-opening https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-06-10/second-u-s-virus-wave-emerges-after-state-reopenings
  13. Finding it hard to buy that they only offered him a $100k raise to $1.1 million when he signed in Columbus for $2.5 for one year. Who in their right mind would offer a full value contract in September when UFA's start getting desperate and more willing to accept low-ball offers? I get the feeling it's more like he asked for around $2.5 million+, got less than he wanted, plain and simple priced himself out and so fabricated the whole small raise thing. What better time than now to publicize this too.
  14. Anyone on here with personal side hustle success stories?  Serious replies only, would like to chat with you.

what is a side hustle? is it anything like riding side saddle?

I don't know about side hustle; but buying rental properties and having multiple tenets is a good form of side income.

  15. I'd agree with that. Honestly both are foundational when discussing building a team's core as they are top dogs in their respective positions. At this point though, I might put Quinn ahead of Pete for the simple reason of how complete he is. Not saying Pete isn't skilled in most aspects of the game but one aspect I'd count against him would be his face-offs. In the current season he has been at 41%, which explains why Miller has been a regular line-mate of his and taking the draws. Optimally, an elite #1 center would have that component of his game down pat, and while his play-making, scoring and two-way play have been great (he even showed some feisty demeanor to make him tougher to play against), I would still count this reliance on someone else in this as a flaw. While Hughes isn't the biggest guy he's shown that with his mobility has enabled him to individually get out of trouble (while some might say that Tanev being his partner might have been the equivalent of training wheels, it's not like Chris helps him do anything in particular e.g. fend off a bigger check/ skate out of trouble). In that sense he's more complete and he handles all aspects well (skates out of trouble, strong stick-work, can make smart passes, can score from the point with his shot). Agreed that Miller and Marky should probably be 3 and 4.
  16. Admittedly I'm not informed and haven't kept up on his life, what did Dr. Peterson say/ what happened to him? Agreed with someone else who said that there's value in 12 Rules for Life though.
  17. Not trying to pass judgment but I wonder if this (I'll call it how I see it) seeming masochistic tendency is a slippery slope that would be best avoided and addressed if you want something healthy and holistic moving forward? I'm no trained counselor, but I wonder if this kind of psychological complex is something that you'd want to speak with one about. Something like this which seems to be deep rooted (and that you're acknowledging now) may be the start and piquing of this from your subconscious, and at worst with such a conversation you could have a more well-rounded perspective after hearing what counselling professionals have to say about it. At least then you could decide for yourself if trying for a healthy relationship is worth it or if you decide to follow this impulse, then at least it's grounded on a decision that you've made for yourself.
  18. I could see the first one happening if either they fear Demko getting plucked in expansion draft/ there's no compliance buyout coming. Don't see the second one happening though since most Isles fans are pretty high on Dobson, and in the same trade suggested most of them said no. Of course this probably doesn't necessarily reflect management but it very well could. Seems like right D are more highly valued than wingers in general. The Sissons move I feel COULD work, but given the options we already have in the 3rd line (Gaudette emerging/ Sutter already being a shutdown guy), I don't see why we would get him and then go through the other efforts to revamp the roster when there's no guarantee that Sutter would be tradeable (unless Gaudette and Stecher are packaged with Sven and Sutter, it would be pricey to move these big cap hits when it comes to the picks also going out). Of course if that was the approach taken then J.B. would be quite the genius.
  19. Curious, how have people been dating post-Covid?

@smithers joe haha it does take awhile to become a diamond in the rough ;)

@Pears same boat as you, and I wonder if that's because of both the high supply and demand with everyone largely stuck at home.

I agree with Joe. Even at 53, I feel like all I'm doing is carbon dating.

  20. Those moves would be a godsend. Now we just need to sneak the words "compliance buyout" in there and we'd be pretty good to go.
  21. For every Gaudreau there's a Hunter Shinkaruk or Linden Vey. Smaller guys don't always pan out, plus we're set up front. I get that the shiny new toy appeal is still very much on Madden but (unless we can reverse the trade) what's done is done.
  22. Remember 6/4/89.  #blacklivesmatter.
    Justice must be served.

  23. Stecher's RFA so there's some value in his rights. Regarding the chemistry part, as much as I'd hate to tear Brock out from the equation, Risto's probably a good option as an all-round right shot D-man with size, and those aren't easy to come by (beside Myers we also wouldn't have any locked up, and that's an area of weakness). For the team to grow and probably take the next step I'd be willing to make this move given that we can get Toffoli locked up. Even keeping Demko and trading Boeser for Risto looks like good value IMO though I wonder if SabresFan might think differently?
  24. Pretty perfect lol. Good changes of pace (e.g. slowing down of certain parts) for added impact and good mix of highlights.
