Bought some resistance bands for work. Last experience I had was with Cher resistance bands. One snapped and nearly took my eye out. This time I bought cheap, made in China clearance bands. I live dangerously.

@-DLC- must stand for Deb Loves Corticosteroids... never heard of people snapping resistance bands before

More expansion means more expansion drafts, hello wrench.

@AngryElf you might have a point; if it's in the next couple years and it's same format (and if OEL and Miller refuse to waive), we'd probably have to go with protecting
Petey(no-brainer)/ Miller (NMC)/ Kuzmenko/ Mikheyev/ Raty (ELC)/ Podkolzin (2 yrs)/ Kravtsov (2 yrs)
Hughes/ OEL (NMC)/ Hronek
Demko
Then we'd have to pay someone to not take Bear if we like him at that time and to take either Boeser or Garland (or they can have Hoglander honestly if the other wingers pass him on the depth chart; we'll probably also trade Beauvillier if management has an idea for when expansion will be so we don't need to spend a slot on him). It would definitely suck though if JT hasn't been traded by then and OEL will need to take an expansion slot (unless he likes Houston or Atlanta ).

Why isn’t Quinn Hughes talked about more. Not only did he become the fastest defencemen in NHL history to 200 assists he’s also underrated af defensively
-
If we do in fact move on from OEL in the summer then Vladislav Gavrikov needs to be priority number one. I feel like he’d be PERFECT on the second pair with Hronek.
-
@Canucks Curse in what world is ROR a 3rd C? We're also already above the cap for next season so we'd be in tough to get him even as 2nd C if we move Miller.
The rest of the depth D would be appealing though (either Soucy or Borgen from the Kraken would be great).
Re: OP, no thanks to buying out OEL, if only management would trade Myers at next TDL and move Boeser/ Garland/ Miller in offseason for picks.

I hated the Hronek trade at first, then I flipped to looking for a silver lining.. For mental health reasons, we should all at least try to do this. Thanks.
-
Pick value aside, at the time of the trade the expectation was for him to move to the right side and possibly become Hughes' partner. He was an all-rounder when he was in WSH and VGK (topped off at around 35 points, which is slightly higher at this point than Hronek) and Filip was also that with DET this season (he took over as the #1 RHD ahead of Seider). My point is hopefully he doesn't relapse statistically, as I do agree that it cost a lot more to get him than Schmidt, whereas we've paid through the nose to get Hronek after a possible anomaly of a season.

Hughes and Petey might've wanted out if the team was torn down to just kids up front and the awful group on the back end (Demko helps with the defense but alone he's not enough when Tank Commanders Myers and OEL are here). Hronek fits the timeline of making this rock bottom before starting to be good again (with him and Hughes hopefully stabilizing the blueline, plus the influx of kids and hopefully a new C in place of Miller) to revamp the group behind 40 and 43.
There is the possibility he's the new Nate Schmidt but I'll choose to be a bit more positive and see him as a contributor to future success... until proven otherwise.

What the ever loving hell will TSN and sportsnet talk about on friday? lol.
10 straight hours of coverage talking about Chycrun and fabricating more trade proposals than the armchair fans of HF Boards? -

Which is worse: OEL at 7.2 for 4 more years, or Huberdough at 10.5 for 8? Flames are so screwed!
-
We'll see; if Hubie falls off a cliff scoring wise and becomes unplayable in his 30s they'll be in trouble. That being said, if he's Benn/ Pavelski/ Bergeron in his 30's and he stays serviceable in the top-6, he wouldn't be the worst. OEL's contract, while shorter, also includes a glaringly bad +/- as his errors lead to goals against, so for now he's pretty bad.

If Schenn is traded and he resigns with us in the off season, should we lock him up for 3 years at $3M and make him captain?

@Iron Man @I.Am.Ironman fight for the title, gentlemen, I'll get some popcorn ready

Another crazy move from Zegras
-
i hope they don't trade for 4th line and bottom pairing d-men and force them to play further up the line up than their capable off.
allvin, don't be a benning.
-
Based on sources sounds like Boston has upped their offer for Luke Schenn, Calgary holding still with their offer but the Canucks want defenceman Connor Mackey
-
Scotty Bowman said the best trade he ever made was the one he didn’t. He almost traded Yzerman, but could get the right return. Maybe we are lucky to have kept Brock? He’s been looking great with Tocchet as coach.
-
@#Canucks by "keep putting him in positions to succeed", if you were GM how inclined would you be to move Brock?

Brock's been looking better of late, and he showed yesterday in his goal that the quick trigger is still there. Just let him and his linemates gel and play with some fluidity in how they set up (e.g. use a motion PP like they did yesterday) and he can probably get back to that level that we saw in his earlier seasons.

McCann 11th in even-strength goal scoring, one spot ahead of Crosby. Thanks Benning.
-
I thought they traded him cuz it was leaked that he was some sort of "lone star" egoistical diva who was unpopular? The fact that they traded him for the pylon that is Gudbranson aside, it took him until his third team (Pittsburgh) to really start scoring (2020: 0.75 points/ game), then with this Kraken selection he really broke out (50 points last season, 35 this season already). You never really know for players with ego (read: Virtanen, Jake; some players just never mature, even if people are patient with them).
-
-
Would Carlsson or Fantilli be able to contribute in the NHL year one? I could see canucks finishing as low as 3 if the tank goes well.
-
if PA can move OEL and myers, he'll correct JB's mistakes and if they move JT's contract, they will correct theirs.
-
Trade Miller before his NMC kicks in, and wait until next TDL when Myers is a pending UFA, and that's $14 million in cap blunders corrected (Pearson can get shipped out too). I think OEL just needs the right defensive RD partner and bare minimum he can still be a fringe top-4 who can eat some minutes (no need to buy-out, bury or retain on him when we don't really have anyone better).
