If Luongo's health keeps heading south, he realistically could fail a physical before his contract expires and get put on LTIR with no cap recapture penalty for the Canucks or Florida.  If Florida can find a better option in the UFA market, they may be more than willing to fail him and pay off the contract.  In terms of actual money, he's only still owed less than $4 Million total for the remaining years.  Easily affordable for Florida.
