Fozzy
Guess Letang didn't want out of Pittsburgh after all. Not sure he's worth that money.

Onions
Seriously overpaid if true but this just gives gillis more options with edler.
D-Money
I didn't expect him to be moved... not yet anyway. But once their D prospects develop, they may need to trade him to have room to sign them.
Mike Vanderhoek
I am sorry but does anyone in Pittsburgh not realize how much of an overpayment this is ? That is a brutal contract, the player has inflated numbers being on the team he is and he is very one dimensional. He is not worth the same and now apparently more than the best allround defenders in this League. There is a new CBA and the cap is going down, good signing lol. Junkyard Dog
So let me get this straight. After next year Malkin, Crosby, and Letang alone are going to take up 1/3 of Pittsburgh's cap?

Tangelos
sign and trade. Player value goes up when they're signed long term
MJDDawg
Let's not forget folks, the cap is going down for this coming season. Even with the shortened season, the league earned record revenues this past season on a percentage basis (something like 72% of full season revenue in 54% of the games). There's nothing to say that the cap won't go up a good chunk in a couple of seasons and then upwards from there. So what looks like a ridiculous contract for Tang now might not look as bad in a couple of years.
hsedin33
Tha'ts pretty brutal. I though GM's learned not to give out huge money with super long contracts by now... 25.4 Million tied up in 3 players long term, what could go wrong?

Master Mind
Good, let them use up all their money on 3 players. No depth for them.
