Brad Marchand
This is going to turn into a Gillis thread. The worst GM since the lockout wouldn't "spiral" this team to 5 straight division titles, 2 consecutive Presidents' Trophies, and a Stanley Cup Final appearance. Should the Canucks fire him? You can argue for that, but he sure as hell isn't the worst GM in the post-lockout era.
Aladeen
No matter how much anyone hates Gillis we can always take solace in the fact we don't have Feaster.

goalie13
It's a little longer than 5 years, but my vote would go to Darryl Sutter. He was great as coach and he had a couple of good years as the Flames GM, but once he stepped away from being the coach (2006) to concentrate on being the GM the team went on a serious downhill slide. Boudrias
Last 5 years is feaster 10 years probably sather Has to be Sather. Feaster hasn't been in Calgary long enough to hold him responsible for that mess. Sather has spent $ millions for what a 2nd round? Holmgren lucked out with a final but some of his moves have been pretty sketchy as well. Any votes for ding dong in Edmonton? I heard on NHL Radio that when he was introducing the new coach that he spent more time talking about his 6 Stanley CUPs.

Warhippy
Tambellini/Lowe followed by Howson, former Columbus GM. Reasons being...they speak for themselves. Gillis doesn't belong in this discussion because his and the teams record under him speak for themselves so don't let whatever grudge or issue you carry cloud the truth of this matter in this discussion. So again, Lowe/Tambellini in Edmonton for 3 1st overall picks and one #8, Howson for getting shafted in the Nash Trade and his godawful drafting abilities followed by former Habs GM Gauthier (Cole and Kaberle...really?) Ya that sums it up. Again Gillis doesn't belong in this conversation so please, be real
thaji
Def has to go to Sather...how that guy still has a job baffles me. If he was on any other team that cared even a little bit about money he would be out of a job....Consistently one bad over priced signing after another...The only good trade he pulled off was the Gomez trade but that was because the other GM was retarded. Still don't understand how Montreal decided to give up anything for Gomez let alone a quality D prospect....arghh...rant over

Smashian Kassian
Surprised only one vote for Howson, he did very little with a lot of years of top draft picks. Most of those were MacLean, and Howson did some good things. (Nash trade, Bobrovsky trade for example)

Ya that sums it up. Again Gillis doesn't belong in this conversation so please, be real The Nash trade actually worked out pretty damn well for Columbus. Dubinsky and Anisimov played a huge role for the Jackets this season. Howson has made some bad moves but easily the best move he made was trading for a Vezina winner in Bobrovsky while giving up pretty much nothing. My vote goes to Feaster. The signings he's made and his drafting ability easily gives him the title of worst GM over the last five years. Holmgren is a close second.
