[Rumour] Philly shopping both Schenn´s , Coburn and Grossmann

Yak for B. Schenn.

Yup. Makes perfect sense. 2nd center is a black hole in Edmonton (Draisatl is not at all ready).

Might even be a package deal, with Edmonton including a pick/prospect and snagging one of those defensemen.

If JB and WD aren't big on Kassian, there could be a deal there. We'd have to add more though...I'd be more inclined to keep Kass.

The problem with B. Schenn is the same with Matthias - not as effective at wing, but too lousy at faceoffs to leave them at center.

Pls. The Flyers will keep them all and get McDavid then gut the team.

Really though Giroux, Simmonds, Voracek, and Couturier are the only players I wouldn't entertain trades for. Everyone else should be available (for a productive gain of course), prospects included.

But yeah Philly is a pretty lousy team this year I doubt any trade involving any of those guy will make them relevant.

Schenn would be a better top 6 option than either of Higgins or Burrows, but we dont have the pieces to make it happen imo.

If they deal him, itll likely be in a package for a more significant player. As mentioned, Schenn + for Kane makes sense for both parties i think.

Hoenstly, I think the Nux are shiz outta luck as far as trading for any impact players. Theres no point in trading from the prospect pool or draft picks.... Thus we are left with the likes of moving Hansen, Higgins, Burrows, Matthias, Vey... these guys are good depth players, but likely wont be sought after until the deadline comes around, which also would be a good time to give some of the Utica kids a shot, while moving some depth veterans to the highest bidder.

Theres always a chance we deal one of Lack/Markstrom, but the goaltending market is so over saturated that I really dont think the return will be worth giving up the depth at that position.

What do you think it would take to get Coburn? He'd surely be a great improvement over the calamity that is Holden, Hejda, and Stuart.

If these kind of rumours had any legs, you'd think Edmonton would have pulled the trigger already. They stay young and get more size with that proposal. Philly gets a potential top 6 winger. Seems like a win/win.

If they think Burrows is a top 6 player I'm in.

That assumes he'd be willing to waive his NTC, but Burrows and Weber for the Schenns, and maybe they either retain some cap on Luke or add a pick? They still get a right handed D back (Schenn is their only one) and someone who can pot goals with offensively skilled players.

That's the only way I see that working for the Canucks, otherwise I'd cringe to take back Luke at this point.

Also seems that if Edmonton isn't ready to give up on Yakupov they could possibly make the same/very similar trade with Eberle as well.

Hextall laughs out loud and hangs up the phone. Weber, and L.Schenn are washes, so that leaves burrows for B.Schenn, and B.Schenn is younger and worth more in a trade than bur is.

Coburn is honestly hard for me to judge. He has been injured this season only playing 1 game though he should return tonight or next game. However and I know a small margin of data but the 1 game he played in the Flyers gave up 2 goals. In the 5 games he missed Philadelphia gave up a minimum of 4 goals in every game.

Philly's defense is so frighteningly bad without Coburn I wonder how moving him can be justified on a team that hasn't said eff this season xD He is a legit big minute top 4 defenseman though and is capable of playing on the top pair just fine though he isn't a true top pair guy. Value wise in a hockey trade I would saw he's worth a second line forward (preferably a winger with Philly's need). Prospect wise. In this draft a 2nd round pick. To reference Canucks prospects not an elite prospect but a prospect like Jensen or Shinkaruk with strong potential but not over the top. Of thats just my opinion.

If I was in control I would honestly keep Coburn. Trade B.Schenn+(+) for a big talent winger like Kane. Dump Luke Schenn and Grossmann on whoever wants them for whatever they want to give. I would call up Laughton to replace B. Schenn as he has 4 goals in his first 3 AHL games. And two of Hagg/Alt/Gostibehere to be mixed into the defenders for development as they have played well in the AHL also and Philly's best hope at a fixed defense is the development of the 5 defenders they have in their system with Morin, Sanheim, Hagg, Alt, and Gostibehere.

Didn't make much sense to me to give him up. There's probably no deal to be made there which is too bad because he'd look great next to EJ. If ROR is going it's going to have to be a much younger D and I don't think McGinn would get it done. The only feasible deal I could see is maybe 2nd + Bleackley/Siemens. I know the Flyers wanted Siemens back in 2011 but I'm not sure if they still do. He's never going to come close to living up to what you would expect from an 11th overall but still has the potential to be a shutdown (with literally zero offense) top 4 guy. If you prefer Hishon I'm sure he could be had I just don't think he has much value after McNabb derailed his career.

I didn't say it'd work for Philly, just that it'd be the only way I'd really consider bringing Luke Schenn back in a trade.

I'd take the Schenn's in a heart beat.

But I don't see them wanting what we would want to give up.

Burrows + Gaunce + Sbisa + pick

for

B. Schenn + L. Schenn

:bigblush:

Hextall probably just laughs.

For Hextalls cap issues he'd probably get you the escort to celebrate if you took Schenn off his hands for such return cap wise. Sbisa and Burrows cancel out the Schenns cap wise but the return of Gaunce and that pick keep them competitive and happy.

Schenn also frees up a roster spot for Sanheim or Morin if they dare bring them up
