Popular Post redhdlois
Update on Duke September 18, 2019 Journal entry by Laurie Boeser — 45 minutes ago Duke continues to improve as he rehabilitates at Bethesda Hospital in St Paul. He can now eat soft food and drink. In fact, he celebrated Brock’s new hockey contract with a chocolate shake (the boys had smoothies)!! His favorite!! He drank it all!! There is a nice park across from the hospital where we like to sit each day and get fresh air. This is where we said goodbye to Brock last night as he heads back to Vancouver. Our goal is to attend a Vancouver home game which means Duke’s rehab work continues. He will be moving to a Transitional Care Unit any day - just waiting for the green light to move him but we don’t know where yet. Our insurance and the Social Worker are coordinating the move. I provided a list of TCU’s in a priority order - praying we can get him closer to home. Duke’s mind is clear when rested and foggy when fatigued. He is still clearing the delirium cobwebs but has some good one liners and is more aware each day. He wants to come home so badly but I remind him that he is on the home stretch. Praying for continued healing and patience. Again our many thanks for greeting cards, gift cards, good books, meals, house project help and warm hugs. heart 14 1

Popular Post Locke Lamora
This team has some high quality humans. I’ll follow and put my faith in this team pretty much regardless of the team composition (within reason of course) but the fact the roster is so stacked with HIGH CHARACTER makes it a true joy that this is MY team. 2 3

The kid has been through a wringer and it seemed to catch up with him yesterday afternoon. There was no need to record it let alone broadcast it. I guess having tears flowing down cheeks sells. Pretty tasteless IMHO. 1

I can see your side of it, but also having gone though my dad being in ICU for 6 months a couple of years ago, I really can sympathize with Brock and his family , and can see how Brocks story could help a lot of people experiencing something similar right now. Like his Mom mentioned....he is sensitive........too bad some of our media weren’t a bit more themselves. Glad Brock has some close bonds with some of his teammates for support. I hope they leave him alone now that the questions have been asked and answered. Really feel for BB going through that, and then having to leave with his dad doing so poorly. Just a reminder for us fans what our heros sacrifice to play the game. 1

Green and Benning Aquillini have probably told Brock that if he needs time off he can have it at anytime Petty and Boeser are bffs, Hughes seems to be geling well with them too and seem to have a 3 bromance going on. Horvat is watching from the shadows but has all of their backs 1

Petty went out with Boeser after a game night just to see him and hang out (Petty probably comes home for dinner with Boeser when theyre in Minny) Edited September 19, 2019 by PunjabiCanucks
komodo0921
Now that Boeser's locked up, it's time to get back to work. My one hope for this season is to see Brock become a more complete player. We all know he's going to get his points but he really needs to learn to play all three zones. His next contract starts with a qulifying offer of 7.5. At this number, I want to see a more rounded, top-six player that the coach can depend on anywhere on the ice. I don't expect an overnight change but want to see definite strides in that direction. If we end up with a Brock Boeser that is a lock to get 60-70 points a season and plays effectively over the full 200 feet of the ice, he's worth every penny of 8-9 million a season and I'd be happy to drive him to the bank myself. We had two bags of pucks, seventy-five capsules of smelling salts, five jars high-powered hair wax, a saltshaker half-full of pre-workout, and a whole galaxy of multi-coloured jerseys, socks, sticks, gloves... Also a quart of whatever's on tap at the Earl's in Yaletown, a quart if whatever's on tap at the Roxy, and a case of Fat Tug, a 6x6 contract, and two dozen pictures of Loui. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious Vancouver connection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that worried me was the 6x6 contract. There is nothing more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man on a 6x6 contract. 2
