I love how Boeser creates his own scoring chances, every highlight seems to be him getting into a open spot and unleasing an absloute dagger of a shot.  I can't remember the last Canuck who could do this.

Can we just inject him into the lineup already. :P I really hope he signs next year, he will have a really good shot at making the team

Kesler played one year at Ohio and turned pro right after that.

Boeser is on pace to have a much better season in ND than Kesler had in Ohio.

There could be a parallel there possibly, or have the age eligibility rules changed since Kesler played in Manitoba ?

Age eligibility for what? For the CHL/Junior? Boeser wasn't drafted out of junior so he doesn't fall under the CHL/NHL agreement. If he wanted to sign a pro contract he could play in the AHL or NHL.

I get the feeling that he'll pull a Larkin/Kesler and go pro after this season. He's already killing it at the NCAA level and I suspect that the Canucks would love to get a chance to put his scoring skills to the test on the NHL level. A line of Boeser, McCann, and Shinkaruk could be magic one day.

Also, if Boeser signs this year... there is a chance the Canucks could have an inside track on Drake Caggulia who is expected to be one of the most coveted Undrafted College UFAs of this season. Teams tried courting Caggulia last year but he opted to return for his Senior year, so he'll definitely be signing after this season. Caggulia is a LW and is on a line with Boeser (who is a RW).

Food for thought.

They also have RHD Troy Stecher who is a local kid that I was interested in the Canucks signing last year. This year his stats are up; he'll be signing with some team for sure. There seemed to be NHL interest last year.

And he seems to be a Canucks fan:

I also have a lot of interest in Stetcher. When he played for Penticton he was a great puck moving PP QB and minute eating defenceman. He lost his way for a couple years at ND but I think he's worth slow cooking in Utica and maybe he could pan out to be an nhl'er. Downside is definitely size though.

Stetcher is a great prospect.

Been on his wagon for a while now.

Also, keep your eye on Rhett Gardner. So far he only has 5 points (4 of which are goals) in 19 games. Might not scream elite production but I think he's terrific and definitely has potential. He's a 2-way guy. 19 years old, 6'3" frame. Great face off guy, great work ethic.

I think he's going to explode given more minutes.

Stecher already attended both a Canucks rookie camp and a Hawks camp, both clubs passed on him.  His offensive numbers (what he's supposed to do best) aren't overwhelming,  but who knows, start in ECHL maybe?

As for Caggiula, personally i think his offensive numbers are somewhat inflated since his team is literally stacked with pro-prospects this year.  If his numbers in his first two years were closer to what they are now (like Boesers are), that would be impressive. But he's a senior whose role on the team is to score and he's doing that so who knows, he'll get an offer to turn pro somewhere I'm sure?
