Dmitry Zhukenov | C

That's good news. He may put up a lot of points, which will lead to confidence playing in NA ice. It also shows he's not one of those guys who will ditch of to the KHL in 3 years, he's got commitment to playing in NA.

He is on the same team as Nicolas Roy, who is a big C that was drafted 97th. If Zhukenov is able to Make an immediate impact and Roy is able to take the next step then Chicoutimi would have the foundation of a good team being a one-two punch down the middle. One of their best defenseman last season was also a 16 year old in Frederic Allard.

If a few of their younger players besides these ones are able to step up and if they're able to acquire a few key pieces then Chicoutimi could be a solid playoff team in the Q.

So perhaps not the "worst Canucks draft in history" after all...

Because him playing in the CHL vs staying overseas was the swing vote?

He didn't wear the A, maybe it was Gurianov or someone else you saw. But still, I would't be surprised if he did go to WJs.

In the first set of highlights he did. The other two I didn't see a letter.

I was scared to even look up the Canucks 2007 draft.

1st Rounder Patrick White: Traded to San Jose eventually as part of the Ehrhoff trade. So I suppose we got something out of him. Last season White played in 26 KHL games and had 0 points with a -15. Moved to a Slovakian league to get 24 points in 32 games.

2nd Rounder Taylor Ellington: Never even made a career in the AHL. Couldn't really make it out of the ECHL, and last season played in Denmark. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11695

5th Rounder Charles-Antoine Messier: Looks like he didn't do much out of the QMJHL. Played in university for 3 seasons with nothing after 2012. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=12162

5th Rounder Ilya Kablukov: Career KHLer. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=13965

6th Rounder Taylor Matson: Never really cracked the AHL. Pretty good in ECHL but went to Europe. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=12562

7th Rounder Dan Gendur: Couldn't even manage ECHL and plays in lower leagues now. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=13603
