Otherwise, the elite talent and top tier players on that list will be re-signed. Vrbata might be an FA as well and Hamhuis may be re-signed by the Canucks or another team. It is interesting as he and Steve Bernier were of similar age, both power forwards who finished with almost identical seasons. Fast forward and Backes is a captain, two time 30 goal scorer and selke finalist. Bernier became a bit of a dead weight and dropped to a fourth line role.
