Bo Horvat | #53 | C

I don't expect this thread to blow up during the game as Bo is not really known for his offense. Might be a clean stat sheet by the end of it and no one will really know how solid he was unless they actually watched the game. The only thing people can really tell by paper is his faceoff %.

Best case scenario - he pops one or has an helper while being solid defensively and in the dot.

Solid night - 0G0A0P, +/-0, 55+% on faceoffs

Do they ever reset? I have 2 lingering from at least 2-3 years ago..

On topic: looking forward to seeing Bo in action tonight, hopefully he's on one of the first two lines and gets ample opportunity!

you can petition a mod to lower it if you feel like you deserve it.

I'd like to see a few SOG too. While not always indicative of play, they will often illustrate some scoring opportunities.

Bo Horvat is wearing #22 for the Comets tonight.

#53 taken in Utica by?

Horvat's playing on the left side with Defazio and Jones, he almost scored just now

Not at center? Is this to ease him in or we want to try him at wing?

Horvat is listed as 6'1 216lbs by the Comets in their report.

6'1... 216 pounds?

That's great. I hope his speed isn't a problem.

^^

Was it not reported that Horvat trimmed to near 205 lbs this off season? Not that he was overweight. But changed his training to get to a point where he was quicker, faster, and had more jump to get up to the faster pace of the NHL...

On the same line; that he would need to change his game style? In the OHL, to play 22 or more minutes he had to reserve energy. Coasting a tad rather than blowing maximum energy full out each shift. So he could play longer shifts and more of them. Now to make the NHL he would have to play faster and more explosively to keep up with the pace. And use shorter shifts to not get puff'd at that level.

More than I expected for a first game back.

He was very noticeable out there, showing some chemistry with Gaunce and Shinkaruk at times.

His defensive game looks solid as usual and he had a couple great scoring chances.

It's too bad he can't stay in the A this season, because I think that would really help his development. But at least he can start their next season, if he doesn't stick on the Nucks out of training camp.

Any idea on how he did on the dot?

That was his draft day stats. at 206 Lbs. Bo said he was playing at over 220 (223 as I remember) last spring and was told to work out and trim down.
