I wondered about this when the team first got sick.

Not Petey and Brock specifically, but the study below says 27-33% of cases become long haul

Studies show long-haul COVID-19 afflicts 1 in 4 COVID-19 patients, regardless of severity (ucdavis.edu)

the numbers suggest that about 5-7 Canucks could get Long Haul - Sutter is one

It would not surprise me if Sutter's career is over, if he just never makes it back to playing strength.

I wonder what the Canucks did in the way of testing and long term care ?

Sutter signed when he was still sick

Hamonic signed while being unvaxed

Arizona players + Podkolzin seem steadier than many of the players who went through covid with the Canucks

I don't think re-infection is an issue, as the infectious period is before symtoms

I doubt Sutter is a risk to others, but I am no expert.

I watched the beginning of the exit interview with Sutter, he only talked abut shoulder injury

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Sutter's career might be over as well.

What Petey needs to do :

1) change his stick

2) be shown his own highlight reel

3) go shoot 500 pucks each day w/ Boeser

I'm sure they work on shots during practice. It is apparently ineffective though because during actual games when they face opponents' goalies they cry inside and can't get their shots to work. They are mentally weak. They can't take the pressure.

I am beginning to wonder if Pettersson and Boeser both have lingering Covid.

would the Canucks even check?

Sutter played 10 games after Covid last year, then comes down with Long Haul in the Summer.

I would make sense that other players have effects also

Why doesn't the coaching staff deserve the Covid excuse?

could be

brain fog is one of the symtoms

that sounds kind of trite, but it is actually true

there is no reason that the coaches couldn't still be suffering

I'd like to see Petey on the PK.

The team post-Torts has not made any effort to get the stars of the team on-board for pk, not sure why.  The best teams make use of their best players on pk, don't rely on specialists so much.  I blame the coach for this one, for sure.

Among the coaches we currently have, I believe it's only Travis that had COVID. And while we're at it, perhaps Benning and Aquilini also had COVID? :P

I am not trying to make jokes about this.

I believe Travis had it quite bad, which is not to say he got Long Haul

this is all an experiment really

and the Canucks might be the sports Guinnia pig

If Pettersson and Boeser both get lasting effects from covid, this could be worse than any of Jim's mistakes

other wise it is also true that Boeser and Petey have suffered injuies that might be starting to pile up

or they hate the coach and things could be solved quite easily, (in not left to fester too long)

My understanding of COVID-19 brain fog from what I read in various health sites is that it's persistent - i.e., you will see it a lot and not just for brief moments of the day. I haven't seen enough of Petey to have an opinion one way or another, but I would expect that if he is suffering from brain fog, then he would have been put on the injured list by the doctors - especially in a sport like hockey where there's risk of concussion. Now, on Travis getting COVID-19 brain fog, I don't see any difference in his responses (pretty quick) during his pressers so I'd be shocked if he does have it.

Nope, not Covid brain fog. It is the celestial river flowing above BC. The CTV weather 'person' says so. It has to be true. The said river is causing 'tides' of emotion and impairment of hockey skills. Maybe a giant dome over Rogers would protect them. Oh ya, the Red Kelly pyramids under the bench wouldn't hurt either.

Haha...did you even watch the game the other day where he gifts the puck to the opposing player in our own end?

He is a tire fire right now.

But sure, put him on the pk.

It shouldn’t even be possible to have a pk at 60% at any level of hockey.  Might be reasonable to try really any players other than the guys contributing to such a poor result.

Pete needs to start producing or Jonathan Dahlen is going to pass him in points sooner than later.  JD seems to be having a pretty nice start to his NHL career. B)

Don't get why we wouldn't just loan him back to Sweden and have him come back over. Was always a good prospect and the guy we've traded for can sign somewhere else after the end of this year.
