A random Uber driver who they never should opened their mouths in front of like that. It's really simple. Duchene is supposed to be a veteran leader too. He should NEVER say negative things like that around his teammates. That's what a cancer does. It spreads, and eventually kills the host. How is a cancer cured? It needs to be cut out, and (even then) the damage may be too great for the host to survive. The Sen's fans don't deserve that cancer on their team. Trade him now. poetica
The team has issues, everyone already knew that. Is anyone really shocked by what was said, though? Seriously, people are making a big deal out of what amounts to guys privately complaining about their boss. Nothing they said was really out of line with what anyone else says about their bosses. Like any other business, the boss/organization needs to deal with what was said but hopefully they'll do so in a meaningfully way beyond just punishing the players for saying how they really feel. In truth, the players are the victims here. (They were also monumentally dumb. But who among us isn't sometimes?) The Uber driver had no business recording them without their knowledge or consent (Apparently it's even against Uber company policy.) and certainly had no right to release the video for likes and 15 minutes of fame. The players were stupid and need to be smarter going forward and watch who they say stuff like that around. But as for the organization, unless they can argue that what the players said is untrue, the fact that they said it isn't their biggest problem. Duchene is clearly not a leader. In fact, he's a cancer. I was against getting him, when his name came up in trade rumors, and felt the Sens made a mistake in trading for him. It's obvious now, why the Avs wanted to dump that player.

That's why Duchene was not out with Stone. Duchene has his own group of followers. There will be some serious fights in that dressing room, or there should be. Sens can't cut out the cancer that is Duchene soon enough.
chon derry
the whole organization IS dysfunctional , and I feel sorry for the fans and the players , Duchene is a good player probly shouldn't have shot his mouth off , that said all the young guys didnt make the jump from kindergarden to the NHL. if Duchene never says anything at all , like never at any point in time , the young guys would feel exactly the same way with or without an older guy talkin smack about the s4itty team their all stuck with, I dont buy into the younger guys being that impressionable that they couldn't figure that out for them selfs. I was surprised at the draft brady tkuchuk decided to report and play rather than back to school . if i'm a true sens fan this changes NOTHING . IMO the driver and the Ottawa Citizen to even release such information is such a cash grab situation, and honestly they are in the wrong here. Players should be more aware what they say in public spheres but its a legal issue when you make information public without someone's consent, which is in fact an invasion of privacy. The driver will be lucky if he doesn't receive a lawsuit out of this. you are incorrect. Even in Canada, the restriction is against covert recordings. I do not need your consent to record and release a conversation, so long as you are aware that you are being taped. Its only if the taping is done surreptitiously, outside of legally valid reasons ( criminal surveillance), is it invalid in Canada. In most other nations in the world, you do not enjoy such rights to personal privacy either - neither am i convinced you should. If you are going to utter it in presence of strangers, the stranger should not require your permission to relay the conversation as he/she desires, so long as it does not alter the integrity of the message. BlueDragon23
Yeesh, as if things weren’t bad enough for the Sens. They should know better than shooting their mouths off in public. They may have hell to pay for this. Wonder how Sens fans are reacting to this...

Sad a player like Duchene (with all his talents) would be bad mouthing his coaches rather than taking responsibility on himself to be better. Maybe he should have stepped up, and offered to PK too?
