Going to this one with my son - first one in years! I only have canucks t-shirts. Would it be offside to wear my Jays Alomar jersey? Lol. It’s blue... I’m a huge Canucks and Jays fan, and an even bigger Leafs hater. Just doesn’t seem right though at a hockey game. And god forbid someone mistake me for a Toronto person...

Haha... let's be clear. You paid for tickets? Wear whatever you want!

Since we are eliminated from playoffs would put left side of Sautner, Teves and Hughes.  Right side would keep Schenn with Hughes, Stetcher and I guess Biega on right.  Put Goldy back in.

Take the reigns off, tell them to go have fun tonight.  See if Hughes and EP can start shaking out how their offensive games will work together.  Looks good so far.

Of course Demko should play out the string other than the last home game, Marky earned that.

HNIC, national audience, no doubt the talking heads will tell us all about Hughes' ties with Toronto because that is the most important thing about him.

Yes, in the end, it's the vets that disappointed: Eriksson, Sutter, Gudbranson (while he was here), Beagle, Schaller, Del Zotto, Nilsson, even Edler with his uneven play, Tanev with his missing games.

The younger guys? Fantastic.  Boeser? Hughes?! Pettersson!!!  Horvat, good old reliable Horvat.  A comeback year for Hutton, Stecher turning out to be steadier and better than most of the D,  Brisebois and Sautner not too shabby...

The only "older" players that really distinguished themselves were Biega, Markstrom and maybe Schenn (need to see more games to be sure.)

Not sure what you or everyone else expects out of Eriksson, but he has had a fine season.  He's a defensive forward, he's not the 30 goal scorer anymore.

Beagle? How did he disappoint?  Great at face-offs, kills penalties like it's personal.  What more did you want out of him?

Edler, love him or hate him, he's our best defenseman.

The rest, I agree.

Can't wait till next year, when we should have more kids on the team.

what young player is going to make the Canucks? Only prospect I can think of is Juolevi and with Hughes, Hutton and apparently the never ending Edler as a Canuck career there is not really a spot open for him. Also, Sautner could be the fill in guy on the left side. Give Olli a full year of hockey in the A and to stay healthy!

Unless we win the draft lotto and get a top 2 pick not sure who else this draft is thought to be NHL ready. All our good prospects are basically in the NHL already now

Svech is now at 20 goals and his team is in the playoffs.  I agree he's more on the periphery, but he's a legit candidate.

I do think it's neck and neck with Petey and dahlin though, it's too bad Petey's season fell off the cliff with his team, it wasn't even close until February.

Svech a legit candidate? He's not top 5 in scoring, has 30 fewer points than Petey, as many goals as Tkachuk...

It is between Dahlin and Pettersson with the latter the clear favorite. Despite the slump he still put up 20 points between February and now, which is still nearly twice the rate of Dahlin (13 over the same period). Pettersson slumped for sure, but so did most other rookies. Dahlin was pointless in 8 games in March.

Pettersson's play on the defensive side of the puck still has been outstanding, especially if you want to start making comparisons to Svechnikov.

It is not like he pulls it off either...

To be honest, I think he does. Wearing something that loud un-ironically requires a combo of confidence and attitude. Whether it's all an act or not is one thing, but his Coach's Corner persona definitely fits the bill.

Spots will open up. It’s Not like we have iron men back there on D. Just wait until we have at least 2 of our D out injured for any length of time and spots will open up. I never get why people say there’s no room for young guys? As if spots never open throughout the season from: injury, player movement, and underperformance. Depth is good for a reason
