[Rumour] Joe Pavelski signs with Dallas

Recommended Posts

Wow, that's gonna take a bite out of the Sharks offense. That's a tough loss. Sharks better hope Karlsson's health holds up because his contract likely cost them their captain.

Pavelski isn't getting any younger though, so who knows how it'll play out.

Gotta wonder how that plays out in the locker room.

Also probably means that Couture gets the C, which is 100% the right call.

character loss too. Pavelski is a playoff performer to boot.

That flopper is definitely not captain material.  It'd be like giving Kesler the C.  Burns is probably the best option.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Pavelski given the C in Dallas.

Everyone flops. Even Chara at times and he's a warrior.

Couture is one of the best playoff performers in the league and a hard-working two-way guy. Ideal candidate to replace Pavelski.

Chara's one of the most gutless players in the league.  Wouldn't even be considered for a leadership role in a respectable organization  and would have been told to cut out half of his garbage.  Terrible example.

Way better to give it to a guy like Burns who the league respects.  Karlsson would also be a solid candidate, having worn the C in Ottawa.  It was stripped from No Show Joe for a reason; character matters.

Yeah, that's gonna be interesting. I wonder how they fill that massive hole Pavelski leaves.

I'm not sure it'll be Couture but I wouldn't care if it was. I'm indifferent when it comes to him.

Big time, they're really gonna miss him. Can't blame him for getting what is likely his last big payday though.

Couture always looks like someone just stepped on his puppy. He is more like B(eta) material.

Brent Burns probably will be Captain.

Sharks taken down a notch with Pavelski gone plus perhaps Nyquist and Donskoi leaving and buyout Marleau returning.  Pacific division is evening out... well, except for the Oilers digging deeper.

Still likely a playoff team though.  This is how I see the Pacific shaping up:

  1. Vegas: Still good
  2. San Jose: Lost some key players, but should compete for 2nd
  3. Vancouver:  Miller, full season of Hughes makes them a bubble team compared to the also rans:
  4. Arizona:  Can't score; relying on a lazy hot dog enthusiast as leadership
  5. Calgary: Absolutely terrible goaltending.
  6. Anaheim:  Rebuilding
  7. LA:  Really rebuilding
  8. Edmonton:  Not an NHL team.

The Coil are digging so deep for that hidden nugget they are going to come out the other side as the Beijing Coilers.
