https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/senators-borowiecki-robbery-vancouver-1.5381705 Mark Borowiecki plays defence for the Ottawa Senators, but he thwarted a different kind of score in Vancouver, according to police. Borowiecki "wrestled a stolen bag" away from an unidentified person, who had taken it from a car, at around 1:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, according to a statement from the Vancouver Police Department. The suspect then fled on a bicycle. Police are investigating the incident, which happened in the area of West Cordova and Granville streets, on the fringe of Vancouver's Gastown neighbourhood. No arrests have been made, and the bag was returned. No further information was available. "We are grateful for Mark's assistance and do recommend that if anybody does witness a crime to immediately notify the Vancouver Police and to stay safe," police wrote in a statement. A spokesperson for the Ottawa Senators confirmed the story. The Senators are scheduled to play the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. 1 1

Primal Optimist
I like the guy and he is having HIS career year now that some bigger talent has moved out of Ottawa... I think from memory he is having his highest scoring year already, and its only 1/3rd of the way through! 1

Nuxfanabroad
Heard this was staged & JG Pageau was wearing a Groucho Marx get-up. Seriously this Boro guy is improving his image..wasn't it he who pulled that BS judo-throw on poor old Derek Dorsett? I hope he properly apologized..but yeah, he's a pretty tough, grinding D-vet. O, I do agree and I am so sorry if you ran into one. IMO generally the police are 99% here to serve you and protect you. Some folks trying bad things don't like that being broken up: but for the average canuck, the Popo IS your friend. I know that bad apples are in EVERY barrel though..so yeah, my sympathies if you ran into a Richard of hard proportions. On both sides. Edited December 3, 2019 by Primal Optimist
