Kinda how I thought it would shake out with Makar on top. I believe Hughes is better player based on the different teams and a year younger. I’m sure they will be comparing the 2 for years to come

Im going to be more stoked to see a Canuck win a Norris anyways

Both Defenseman are incredible and deserving players. I wasn't surprised Makar won as he was the hyped up frontrunner all season. Not to take anything away from our players but I feel Hughes accomplished more with less (supporting cast). Not alot was expected from us this year (outside of Vancouver)

Hypothetical question: If Hughes played for Colorado this season and Makar played for the Canucks who scores more points and has the best stats? ...and is the Calder race even close?

Both players are great but I'm happy we have Hughes.

Award was decided half way through the season.

Hughes would have really had to tear it up to overcome the momentum Makar had already built.

Really doesn’t change anything. Hughes is a very important piece to the puzzle and should only get better. He is a year younger than Makar after all.

Doesn’t this actually save us and extra cap hit next season for him winning a major award?

I’m going to say Larry Brooks.

He voted for Makar.  Fox is 2nd and Hughes 3rd on his ballot.

It's Murat Ates that voted for Fox.  He covers Winnipeg for The Athletic.

All of Vancouver media voted for Hughes - Dayal, Drance, Kuzma, Johnston and MacIntyre.
