I really hope the leafs dont win the lottery, its exactly what they need. getting laffy allows them to trade 1 of their high priced forwards for help on d and replaces the lost production on an elc contract.

Nylander is the obvious one to be traded and there are teams that could fit him in cap wise.

I am well aware of what you think of him as a player but I dont think you can call it a bad contract. Its not a good contract but he is a top 6 player offensive production wise so he could get them some help.
