Holtby!  Can't say enough about how good a game that was and what it mean to him and setting the friendly bar for Demko.

 

Schmidt got that goal to get off the Schnied.

 

Boeser good.

Horvat good.

 

Hughes was absolutely  Hughes.

 

The team came up big and that was a great win for the fan base.

Myers’ contract might be a little steep.. but he didn’t cost any assets.  Tough to even draft a top 4 RHD without taking a pretty big gamble with your 1st and even then it takes time.

We drafted a "potential" Top4 D-man in Juolevi and look how long he's taken to get where he is - and he's still not "top 4" just yet either.

 

Every one of Jim's FA signings (except Loui, but we'll gloss that) has probably been around ~20% high "in money". Which is probably about the 'premium' for no-assets unrestricted.

A couple of months back, Burkie said he still wouldn't be surprised if Juolevi ended up as an all-star.  Have to admit I thought it was an exaggeration at the time, but it's great to be wrong about some things.

Don't forget in Horgan's BC we pay a premium of 7 to 11 percent more tax than all but 6 of the other teams in the league. Thanks to the 4 percent premium he put on the tax rate our players pay a year ago. No question that means we have to overpay free agents.
