Dazzle
Holy &^@#... this is a bombshell revelation. Brad Aldrich, the accused, is already convicted of sexual crimes. Looking through the 2010 roster, I'm thinking it's a depth player that wouldn't have the sway power of someone like Jonathan Toews. And I wonder if the accuser talked to other teammates about this incident, though the article did say the "team" did nothing. It's really unclear what they meant by that. I wonder if Chicago traded him out to try to silence him? They did make the below trade in the summer of 2010 after winning the cup. Guessing it wasn't Buff.... He was later named to the Chicago Blackhawks alumni to play in the Winter Classic. I don't think it's Brent Sopel either. But yeah. Maybe it's not someone who got traded, but rather got buried into the AHL.

For all we know, it could be a prospect who was in the system during the 2010 Championship win. It's all heresy until the player goes public with his name. Regardless, this is a heartbreaking situation for the player and the fact that this happened at the NHL level is disgusting. You'd hope these creeps would get weeded out but they just don't. It's good to remember that SA doesn't just affect woman but also men.
Rubik
Quote The lawsuit alleges that in May 2010, the coach “turned on porn and began to masturbate in front of” the Blackhawks player without the player’s consent. The lawsuit identified that coach as Brad Aldrich, who was a video coach for the Blackhawks at the time and is no longer with the organization. The lawsuit also described “inappropriate text messages” from the coach to the player and threats to “physically, financially and emotionally” harm the player if he “did not engage in sexual activity” with the coach. https://www.wbez.org/stories/a-chicago-blackhawks-player-from-the-2010-championship-team-is-accusing-a-coach-of-sexual-assault/8dd7e951-c039-4572-9fb1-f3f099f86371?utm_campaign=Web-Share&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=twitter
KoreanHockeyFan
Quote A former volunteer with the Houghton High School hockey team has been sentenced on fourth degree criminal sexual conduct charge. Brad Aldrich, 30, was sentenced to nine months in Houghton County Jail on criminal sexual conduct charges stemming from his alleged involvement with a male student at the school between the ages of 16 and 18. Aldrich will be given credit for 59 days served. After he serves time, Aldrich will be under probation for five years and required to apply as a registered sex offender. Under the terms of his probation, Aldrich is prohibited from coming within 1,000 feet of any school or school function that involves minors including athletic events. https://abc10up.com/2014/02/13/former-volunteer-hockey-coach-sentenced-sexual-conduct-student/ Well then.... Looks like someone just trying to get a payday. I don't buy that both a team counselor and the NHLPA both heard this and decided to "sweep" it under the rug. Sounds like what The Blackhawks are saying its a meritless lawsuit.

There's a big difference between coming out right away and stating "this is meritless" compared to the usual "we take these accusations very seriously and are investigating, no further comment at this time." Sounds like what The Blackhawks are saying its a meritless lawsuit. or maybe this players story was very sad indeed. He may have had a real rough go after being subjected to the assualt, threatened with punishment for not joining in and gas lighted by Chicago management that this actually never happened. but sure, he could be a sociopath set on revenge. but more likely a assaulter that has the courage to strike once, has the courage to strike twice and so on and so on. There is a plethora of other things they could have said. You also have a Physician and NHLPA who were both made aware of this apparently and neither thought it was worth pursuing and then combine that with the guy only comes forward when he sees the guy was convicted of a crime and decides to sue. To me this looks like it's all about a pay day.
