[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

Hey, wonderful time to be a fan right now.  We're 3 points out, our goaltending is awesome, and even tho we sit in the purgatory of will they/won't they bubble team, competing for the real party, it is exciting.  We have the playoff race, the team to watch, the possibility of trades of consequence, or all quiet on the western front as we try to scratch, claw, bite our way into playoff relevance.  We have a #1 D, the chaos Giraffe has been tamed and OEL has made him into a defending defensemen.  We start getting some consistent production from Pods and Hogs, would go a long way to making our team look like something special with a chip on its shoulder.  Now if only we could defenseman whisper Hamonic back into  some semblance of 'calm the eff down' mode....

Hamonic needs time to find his game considering how much he’s missed but man, wouldn’t he be such an addition if playing up to form?

If he could round out to form, and stop making some of the confusing reads/outlet passes, that'd be great.  Considering what a weakness our right side was reported to be, and the defense as a whole does have some worrisome aspects, they sure have been pulling up their socks under Boudreau.  Does Demko bail their asses out, and would it be nice not to have to so desperately rely on our goaltending, yes, but at least we have that to fall back on.  I do wish we'd be a little bit more aggressive instead of collapsing to the slot all the time and letting the opposing team pass along the boards at will.  But we need to get some team speed.  And skill.  But at least we're trending in the right direction for the moment, and hopefully management can actually get some players with that element to their game.

And how many games previously have you seen Schneider play?

Whether we trade for him or not, he’s way better than what you think you saw of him tonight

3 games now. He's looked like a solid #5 or 6 in every one. Nothing flashy just gets the job done. Definitely not Chris pronger 2.0 as some people bill him.

And if you watched Petey for the first 30 or so games this season you'd think he was a bottom 6 depth guy.......nobody  not even so called 'generational players', let alone 20yo rookie defenceman are on their games every night.

Guess you missed the "I realize he is young and you can have off games"

Cheers!

Not yet. But he has shown glimpses of that as well as solid offensive intelligence. Give him some time and I believe your opinion of him will change for the better

Yeah he looks to be a good prospect with a chance at a decent career... he is definitely not too good to be included in a trade for a top 10 nhl scorer on a sweetheart deal though.

Agreed. It’s just posturing.

If Green was fired 5 games sooner we probably would be in a playoff position right now.

That might be the most horrible analogy ever in cdc history. Anyone who watched petey would see a player with great speed, an elite shot and excellent hockey sense who missed all of training camp,  hindered and down right snake bitten.

To compare him to a player that has 15 games under his belt as a 3rd pairing dman is laughable at best.

Next time just stick with "he is young and you can have off games" like a wise man once said.

So 28 year old JT miller is now 36 year old entitled messier?  Who plays the part of Keenan in your theatrical? This is getting good!! Bill Hader Popcorn GIF by Saturday Night Live

Are you implying if Ovechkin gets dealt to Colorado/Florida or a team that already have a solid top 6. Their team’s chemistry will improve? The Rangers already have two solid duos in their top 6. What they need is the rest of the forward group to pick up the offense.

While Miller would be an nice addition to their team or any team for that matter. I don’t see them selling the future for a player that they don’t really need. Which is why it’s being reported that they already moved on from him.

After watching this game, I can see why the Rangers are hesitant to acquire Miller by parting with their young players to make a push for the playoffs.

I think internally, they know they are not good enough to get out of their division, let alone the conference even if they acquire Miller.

My guess is there is no mega deal between the Canucks and the Rangers at the TDL involving Miller.

Rangers are a good team but they don't give me the same vibe as the Panthers, Hurricanes, TBL, and Penguins.

They're on record, looking to bump down Laf to a more appropriate 2nd line role, and bump Hunt down to the third. They're specifically looking for someone capable of playing 1RW.

Never heard that anywhere. I thought he looked real good. Jumped down low for high quality chances twice. Looked like a veteran. Sublime and Tanev like in his demeaner but way better offensive instincts. Definitely see the pedigree there.

So that would be Boeser or Garland.

Wonder what the return could be?  Won’t be Schneider+ though.
