Coach: BB creates 2 new lines: a) The Heavies: Miller-Pearson-Boeser; we can question where Pearson should be on this team but having a heavy line like that is genius by BB. Match them against certain opposing d-men or a lighter forward line. Creates possession and momentum. b) The Skaters: EP-Podz-Garland: they were coming up the ice with some speed which thru the CBJ d-men back. Garland: this guy isn't going to let the Canucks slide. Back to back shifts where he challenged the CBJ's in their own d-zone. Outstanding. He kick started the comeback IMHO. Horvat: His best game of the season. 2 goals + 4 hits! Podz: We're seeing this kid morphing in front of our eyes. + 15 minutes again last night. BB was quick to read this kid. Meyers: He had an outstanding game and I stand my my thought that he is key to the Canuck year. He keeps this up and they make playoffs. Hughes: 3 point night and you think he has had a regular night. We have a Norris candidate here. What a skater. Beautiful Juulson: He gets to practice with the team for 2 weeks and then plays a pretty solid game. I was impressed with his passing. Nice size. Burroughs: Some negative comments about being caught on a pinch that cost a goal. IMO he is rounding into a bottom pairing option on any given night. Only could watch first so imagine my surprise at breakfast. Looked like Quinn was all over the ice, love that he seems to have the reins taken off and allowed to just create. With what happened last year, the positives rolling in the way they did, Poolman getting pulled I am amazed that they pulled the focus together to win this game. Impressed with the fight the team is showing now, winning a lot more board battles. Watched Boes last night 3 times in one sequence along the boards behind the net win the puck back, that wasn't his schtick before. Team needed management change clearly. Heard something in the post game TV analysis last night, can't remember who said it but along the lines of the COVID mess and how last year the players didn't feel supported by management and the league when they got that schedule from hell after their COVID recovery. Made me wonder if that precipitated the start this year as they still didn't feel management had their back? Also some comments about how Rutherford is willing to meet with the media where Benning wasn't, JB pushed all that to Green which put more pressure on him having to represent the organization to the media and talk about things that weren't just about coaching. I was on sofa laying down on meds. I woke up it was 3 -3 then like 30 seconds later it was 4 - 3 I though it was me dreaming. I was unsure if true or not lol.. half asleep medicated to the clouds.
