This loss is totally on Bruce. The entire GD 4th line played in overtime. If he believes Mott,Highmore and Laamako deserve overtime over Dickenson, Hoglander  or Podkolzon I don't get it..Look I get we are missing our top OT guys but Jeezes put out some speed. Also Petterson is another Swede along with Naslund and the twins who are bad at  the shootout. For reasons I don't know they are just bad at it.Over thinking would be a guessTake the point and try again Sunday though it will be tougher than tonight.

5-1 Panthers if this team didn’t come together,  play their hearts out, and play as a team. Then I see comments like this LOL. 9 outta 10 times  this should be a lose. Crap we had one guy that actually consistently played Center this year. One Center

Martin was good but lets bit kid ourselves. He was caught out of position more than a few times and we were lucky they didn’t capitalize.

I’ll take the point any day when we are down our 2 goalies and 3/6 top 6 forwards.

We preformed way better than them Coilers!

Can’t even be mad, glad we came out with something.

Though, I hope the Hunt experiment ends sooner rather than later. Such a huge liability.

Hoglander needs to calm his game down. Too many times he’s overskating the puck or he thinks he’s Patty Kane out there. Needs to simplify. He’s trying to do too much and if he keeps up his poor performances, he’s going to force Boudreau’s hand and hes going to be benched more often.

Myers had an off night. That Sbisa esque throw it in the middle with 30 seconds left in a 1-1 game almost had me smash my beer into the T.V. Jeez

Good observation about Hogz.  Good motor but too many mistakes in the d zone, and his hands ( more specifically his shot) isn’t good enough to absolve him from the misplays and lapses.  I really like the kid and his potential but he might be a piece that they move for help on defence.

Bravo effort for the undermanned Canucks and also, kudo's to the staff for coming up with a pragmatic game plan.   Take the win - despite, the mistakes - and the point streak continues.

Martin played well but the shootout showed the holes in his game - imo.

Did anyone else have a problem with Petey in the shootout ? He just didn't have it tonight. Why play him ? I guess Miller and Bo were out but Petey would have still been there if they weren't

I do.

Bruce is clearly hell bent on trying to get Petey’s confidence going & bring him around. It was totally a reputation nod.

What about playin’ the odds & going with the players who show that they are being confident marksmen or are having a hot night.

Reward Mott, Podz even Hogz. They all need the experience one on one vs the best goaltenders in the league, too.

And, with Hogz being so creatively-shifty & a virtual unknown to other goalies, I can’t help but think he’s capable of becoming a shoot-out specialist.

Who knows? ‘Bruce There It Is’ sees all during SO drills in practice.

He was excellent positionally. The one goal that was actually scored was gifted to the panthers player. Let’s not kid ourselves

Don’t get me wrong but I’d take a tired Panthers team over a team missing their best players. Also the dig on the Oilers is always fun

So would I.

I wouldn't want to face any top team that's fresh against my 3rd string. We did clearly out hustled them and they were icing the puck 5-6 times a period and were off on many passes due to us being quick to take away options and them being slow to make decisions. It wasn't really till OT or PPs where there star power got them control in periods of play. All things considered, I am not gonna get too far ahead of myself with this game but I do like how we maintained uptempo and outworked them throughout the game.

The Blues game Sunday should be an interesting one. That one will really test this teams mettle. They've been playing good. They could play their backup because Sunday's game is the 1st of a back to back for them.

Martin got some luck and was sharp enough. He's undefeated in regulation in the AHL though he's played 7 games, 5-0-2. Might have jumped over DiPietro this year. Would like to see him against the Blues if Halak's still out. He's at that age(26) where you need to see what he's got and has earned another opportunity if both regulars are still out. Would for sure help determine whether or not he could iron a career out in the NHL.

I have to admit I feel really bad for Mikey. He's been a good trooper. And a team guy. But Spencer Martin seems to be outplaying him.

Mikey to Edmonton for a 2nd round pick?

For a big goalie, Martin suffers from what JM, suffered from - playing small and it showed in the shootout.

Mikey is still young and he can still be a part of the future ?
