Hogs-Petey-Garland line owned the puck a lot in the offensive zone. The only thing is Petey gets too few touches on the puck playing with Garland. This team has three forwards that are good puck handlers/playmakers: Miller, Garland, and Petey. Perhaps spread them over three lines to maximize our offensive output? In the second intermission, they showed the GF/60 and GA/60 stat when various players play with EP... and Podz numbers blew away everyone else's. Podz is a great playmaker and defensively sound, a perfect player for EP. BB seems to prefer a defensively minded forward to play with Horvat and maybe that's why Podz is playing with Bo but I would love to see Podz back with EP again. Defensively, it was chaotic whenever Hunt and Hamonic were on the ice and Myers was back to being a chaos giraffe. Hunt scored so good for him but I would love an upgrade there for the playoff push and Myers to stop with the blind passes. Boeser has to play better. If you don't think the group is good enough than make the necessary moves now. Don't sit back and wait this out. Either make the moves to help this team win down the stretch or sell the pieces to move for the future. At points in the last few games I've teetered to the point where wow this team isn't good enough its not even close but also wow this team looks really solid if they had a few more pieces. Hoglander needed that, with Petey and Garland they managed to control the puck a lot in the game.
