[Trade] Golden Knights trade Evgenii Dadonov, conditional 2023 2nd-round pick to Ducks for Ryan Kesler, John Moore (VOIDED)

That doesn’t help them clear cap space.

The reason they traded Dadonov is to free up almost 4 million.

If the trade doesn’t go through they have no way of clearing space to activate players on LTIR.

Wasn’t saying it made sense. Just saying you still can trade players or player contracts anyway.

And what if no team is willing to help them out?

What would the league do to them if they activated players and were way over the cap?

It is a good question. What is the penalty.  They are so far over the cap I don’t think even a 19 player roster would be cap compliant if everyone got activated.
What is the penalty?  Forfeiture of games?

Fair thing to do would be reject it, and smack Vegas with cap penalties.

Genuinely have no idea why the league is down for the cap shenanigans, the game is becoming who can figure out the best loophole to be highest over the cap rather than who's actually building the best roster.

No fun.

Hopefully it doesn’t go through and the other 21 teams not on his list don’t wanna trade for him.

That way they’re forced to trade someone like Rielly Smith instead.

This is taking so long because the NHL is trying to figure out how one of their sweetheart teams can get out of this mess. All while trying not to set a dangerous precident for the future. Bet your wallet on the fact that if this was the Canucks, it would of been handled more quickly and much more firmly.

LMAO of course not one person knew he had a no trade, Yet it's been out there on capfriendly ect since he signed that deal.

This is privileged vegas acting like rules don't apply to them. They deserve to get screwed one way or another.

What will happen? Dadonov get's screwed by being told he agrees to waive for the ducks. Bill foley will top up his bitcoin account and we will all forget

my guess is the trade will be null and void.

Unless Dadanov waives and no way the NHLPA would want him to do that

Vegas are pricks to their players.  There is no way that player should be put into the situation he is right now.  Now he's going back into a room where his teammates know the guy is keeping better players from helping them win.  The knights should not be allowed to bring any players back from LTIR, even if Dadanov agrees to move.  Punish those ugly helmetted   bastards.

Very fair point. Well someone has to get traded who makes like 5m if this trade is void... And that player cant play the rest of the year. LOL the NHLPA is going to love vegas eh

Its interesting to note Dadonov gets paid $6.5 M next season with zero tax in Las Vegas, but if the trade goes through he gets taxed 12% on that 6.5M which is what $600k.

Who would want to give away 600k for no reason and be out of the playoffs for this year.

Dadonov gets totally screwed over with this deal.

I cant see him wanting to waive this 10 team no trade clause. Maybe if it was to Florida/Tampa it would be ok

Its ugly all round but a decision needs to be made asap
