Darius
Not bad considering the bottom 6 were a hodge podge including a dman. Getting Pearson back will settle down the forward lines.

Popular Post DownUndaCanuck
Big game, like a boxing match back and forth with momentum swings but on the whole we were the better team. We started strong, had more chances, our stars and goalie out-shone theirs, all they did was take it to another gear in the third but that battle by Quinn and Garland to win the game was greater than theirs. Another frustrating night by Miller, he does so many things well but those errant passes are going to kill us and I can't be the only one who's fed up with his turnovers. His line had great chemistry tonight though. Garland and Horvat were fantastic, generating great chances all night and boy Petey was once again our best player - he took over the game tonight. Head to head against Stone and made Stone look the lesser star by a long way. Petey's good defence is generating his offence now - that 2 on 1 was all him blocking the shot, reading the play then passing across a terrible defender. That was a star play in each 3 zones. Podkolzin had another great performance so good to see him rewarded. Unlike Miller's bone-headed defensive plays where he swings the puck blindly into the center of the defensive zone and gets picked off, you see Podz do the complete opposite and it's a good defensive trait to has - he protects the puck so well, uses his body, spins to the side boards and it's almost automatic for him to get the puck out safely. 4th line were solid tonight, Lammy's really lost his edge since Highmore and Motte have gone but boy has Richardson and Lockwood shone at times. On defence, Hughes fought it a bit at the start but got better as the night went along and that was a massive clutch goal by him to out battle the defender and then out wait Lehner. Schenn looked average tonight but a special shout out to Myers and OEL who were DOMINANT defensively. That may be their best shut down performance. Doesn't look like it on the shots and goals but they battled so hard against a team who usually out-works opponents and won so many big puck battles in the D zone against some big strong forwards. I like the trio of defenders with 1 playing forward because when they get the rare chance to cycle in the offensive zone there's always a safety net. Demko was very solid when he had to be and made some big timely saves. On the whole, I know Vegas gets a point but they earnt it with their 3rd period. We played a solid 45 minutes and get a big 4 game winning streak going. PP was brilliant and scored even when it didn't look great, PK shut them down, my only concern is that we got out-played the entire 3rd period and most of all - another bunch of shots from the point that we haven't defended well. Tips and clear point shots shouldn't beat Demko so many times. Didn't like that one under his arm, the other 2 tips are impossible for him but even the tying goal - we should defend these better as a team. After the 2nd goal against I thought our forwards would play their D tighter but we kept collapsing. Got to figure that out because you can't let 4 point shots a game in. 3

-DLC-
No actually, devastating IS the word. And a few other choice ones as well. But it is what it is. The OT point softens the blow. A bit.
Popular Post Iron Man
Just saw on the replay for the OT goal that Eichel got shoved by Hughes and was looking for a call. How embarrassing is it to be shoved off the puck by our smallest Dman in front of your own net? 1 3

At this point all I care about is we're still watching meaningful Canucks games in April. When was the last time it happened? For the last 7-ish years all the Canucks game we watched in March/April was for either vets playing for their next contract or prospects getting an audition. I don't know how long this will continue and probably will end in disappointment, but I'm just trying to enjoy the moment.
