^Yep, the right call here.

The secret's out on Smith and his antics. Lucic let up and if he'd slammed him into the boards (as Smith's dramatics would hint at) he wouldn't have gotten up for awhile. Instead he argued going to the quiet room. He really has perfected the full arm/leg thrust like he's been thrown by a bull. Amusing but no one's buying it anymore. Go to the well too many times deal.

It's true, but it strikes me as pretty funny that Marky has / had the same reputation. Anyone else remember his antics at the World Juniors?

Lucic is an absolute piece of garbage, but Smith dove and got what he deserved in getting sent to the quiet room for faking an injury.  Both of those gutless cowards should be suspended for the rest of the series.

What I find that's so hypocritical, is that it's over the edge. After all, it's a family friendly forum. Isn't that right?

This is where that Marky/Tanev decision was made. It's all well and good for them to sign nice deals but they're past their primes and showing it in this series. Tanev's big question mark was his health and he's useless if he's out of the lineup, leaving Calgary without a chance to replace him. He was always going to be a risky re-signing.

Isn't that true for anyone ?

Then there's Marky who was outstanding for us and Calgary during the regular season but has always had a bad goal in him, and boy is he getting lit up. Cross-reference that to how Demko played in the bubble.

It was a big offseason and ballsy move by JB but thats over 10M which we've essentially internally replaced and they're only going to get worse. If this is Calgary's peak then they're in trouble.

To add to that, Toffoli has 2 playoff goals in 10 games and is a minus 7, basically playing on their 3rd line for 4M.

I've been a bit of a JB fan since he arrived, understand his firing, but he copped a lot of slack for these non-signings but I always knew these signings would bite a team in the butt.

Toffoli has always been more cold than hot in the playoffs. He's only had 2/7 good performances.

The Oiler big boys are delivering and the Flamer big boys aren’t. Oiler 2nd line out playing their opposite line. Marky has to steal a game for the Flames to get back in it. Have to shoot first and crash the net. Not sold on Smith.

why does player safety have to be involved? if someone does something wrong, they can call a penalty.

The officials might not spot it during the game.

The DoPS monitors every game.  They typically clip and archive about 30-60 events each game.  In the playoffs likely significantly more.  It's known that Draisaitl has an ankle issue.

I mean... so? if he's on the ice, isn't he fair game like every other player?

Is there some rule where if a team makes an injury known other opposing players have to protect him?

Any word on what Tanman's injury was?

Not confirm d, but looked like a separated shoulder to my Melmacian eye.  A guy fell n Tanev and squished his shoulder, while his arm was in a strange position.  Then Tanev skated off with his arm hanging.  Right shoulder.

Id say he’s taped up and going to give it a go.  But it could pop out again pretty easily.  He doesn’t finish this game.
