They'll become a rival when we make the playoffs and have to watch them kick our ass repeatedly. We're going to have a hard road to get to a cup with that team in front of us for the next 8 years or so.

We got by Chicago we can get by them.

They’ve got a pretty good head start in their build. We’ll catch up to them in the next few years hopefully.

Makar is a super star. What a stud Dman. Only 23 yrs old.

1g 4 asst 5pts in this game.

22 Pts in 14 playoff games this post season.

And, what a laugh, his new cap hit next season is less than Nurse???

Nurse isn't worth more than 7 million.

MacKinnon did a great job of setting a culture where guys take less as opposed to McDiver who set a culture where playing defence is completely optional.

As Mckinnon starts aging, hopefully that's when we start making our runs. He's turning 27 this year, so he's got at least 6 years of GREAT hockey left, maybe more. Petey will be 27 then, Quinn 28...we'll likely have met them a few times and lost but that's probably when we start being able to push back.

That being said, who knows which of our players will emerge. Perhaps Podz turns into a 80 pt player, whomever we get from the Miller deal turns into a star etc.

But as it stands now, we certainly need alot of changes to even compete with them.

Still just happy Mike Smith went out like a b&tch.

Can’t stand him. He has an arrogance to him that you don’t see too much in goalies. And it is completely unearned as he hasn’t won crap.

Always waiving his arms. Blaming everyone else. Diving. He’s a complete goofball

So mamy highlight reel gaffes, not sure which one to choose.

Someone needs to make a collection on YouTube.

Love to see Lucic and Smith retire together, but not before having them go full MMA mode behind the net, after Lucic running him over and Smith throwing his stick at him.
