McDavid had 12 points in 5 games against Calgary in the playoffs! He had 7 points in 4 regular season games against them last year. LOL i think that have more to do with markstrom.. he's absolutely terrible against the Oiler dating back to the days with the canucks.. in 30 career starts vs the oilers 15 of them he gives up 3 or more goals and 12 of them he gives up 4+ with a career save % of .901 against oilers lol
CanucksJay
Wow.... Just finished watching the game. Thought Canucks deserved better. The non call on the Kane high stick to Hughes should have been a double minor. Instead Edmonton scores while Hughes is injured to make it 3-1. No excuse though. Guys didn't bear down and finish. Man... Is special teams gonna kill us again this year? How can they be so bad regardless of personnel?

Dumb plays all game long by slow Boeser. JT Miller had a lot of strong shifts, but then didn't maintain his intensity. Hughes had a rough game defensively. You could tell that he was choked and frustrated with himself at the end of the game at the bench where he was fighting back tears while OEL was talking to him. Poolman had a good game. I know that he flubbed one or two passes, but he also made lots of nice simple plays and joined the rush once or twice. He was out there with OEL against McDavid's line. Encouraging signs for me, so I disagree with you on that one. Boeser made a lot of nice plays early on both ends of the ice, but then disappeared halfway through the game. The guy's been tearing up the league year after year, he's the most dominant offensive player since... I have no idea who.

Besides Canucks have so many wingers with Garland, Kuzmenko, Podkolzin, Hoglander, Pearson, Karlsson, Klimovich etc. that Boeser is just redundant at this point. Yeah, if Brock signs for 5-5.5M, i say he's worth keeping around for that price point. But at 6M+, I don't think he's worth that. He's also injury prone - doesn't have the ability to remain healthy.

amplified0ne
Stagnant PP it needs more movement, which has been said for years. Their 1st PP was probably their best, they were snapping the puck around and then it reverted back. Not much you can do on the PK goals against except win the draw and gain control of the puck. So not sure yet if there's been any change on the PK or if we are going to go back to the passive box.

A pathetic excuse of a franchise that got gifted the greatest player ever after years of embarrassing the sport with their futility. It feel like the same thing everytime, we outplay them, they get a lucky break or two & McDavid tears us apart. I would honestly cheer for the Leafs or Bruins in a SCF against EDM. **** the Oilers Meh. To me he's like Kent Nilsson, Hawerchuk, Stastny,.... not quite Sakic, Yzerman, Jagr, Messier (yes i said it!), and a huge step down from Gretzky and Mario, and a step down from a few others too. Sure he's good ... on the PP. Ovi same. Ovi's never catching Gretzky's EV goal record. Well maybe if he plays until he's 45 so never say never. And would have to play to 500 to catch up on his SHG's ... have to play the PK too for starters. McDavid gets nuetralized far too easily 5 x 5 in an era where we don't have a redline, and nobody hits anymore or is allowed to grab on to anyone. 700 points .. big whoop! Gretzky had that many in what his first 4 seasons? Orr had more of the same games, and he was a defenseman. Sure "point" adjust it to modern save percentages. Maybe he's the first player, in quite a long time to show he's the man year in year out. But i doubt he's getting much more then 1500 points by the time he's done. McDavid is good no doubt. But why can't he score and average of 70% more points then second place over a decade if he's "the greatest player ever". Nobodies ever going that again. He's very good yep. Like saying w Lidstrom was the greatest D ever lol that's a joke. Not true. If McDavid's career lasts until he's in his mid 30's, i bet his PGP, ends up in the same range as the first guys i talked about. Yes it's nice to see talent and skill like he has again. But it's not like it didn't exist when Bruce played either. Or Howe. Or Richard. Probably Shore and Denney too. I knew guys who were ripped in their 60's-70's who fought in world war 2. It's simply ridiculous to think that things are so much better now. Hull (senior) is still considered one of the leagues top ten fastest all-time skaters...and Bure is still considered the best and fastest with the puck on his stick. Bet he'd score 70 goals a year without a redline and nobody trying to trip him, grab on. McDavid. Well he's had a great run so far. That's undeniable. But he's far from the first player to score 700 points in as many games. Points adjusted too. Edit: Just a little slice one of Gretzky's 4 200 point season. The first 51 games in 83-84, he scored in every one of them ... by Jan 27, he'd scored 61 points and 92 points lol. 153 and counting. McDavid is pretty meh. And he did it on his lonesome in LA later on. The McDavid Drasaitl show, is nothing like the Gretzky Kurri one. Bet Kurri outscored McJesus to 700 points. And that guy was great on the other side of the puck too . Edited October 13, 2022 by IBatch 3 3
DeltaSwede
Gotta play more disciplined against that powerplay. Lot's of promising takes from the game, can't win them all, let's go.

Dazzle
Positives: Kuzmenko - first NHL goal. Happy for him. Demko - this game was not his fault, not at all. Pettersson - drew a couple of penalties, scored a goal, looked dangerous Miller - scored a goal Negatives: Powerplay - just awful Allowed a shorthanded goal Too many 'fancy' moves/overpassing At least two whiffed grade A chances Most players were invisible Hughes didn't have a great game Bad missed call by the ref, but that wasn't the sole reason for why we lost. Blown three goal lead
Ghostsof1915
What did I miss? Neptune Theatre in Seattle needs better AC. I almost passed out 3/4 of the way in. But Band-Maid just killed it.
