Did JT Miller just throw his ex-coaches and ex-captain under the bus?

He said it's fun to come to the rink again, and it was previously a sh!tshow.

Woah.

Don’t think so.

Things are fun when the team is winning.  That’s all.

Woah.

Think he was talking about himself, but whatever he means, something has changed big time...

And if this is what it took, then credit to management for making the changes.

You know what also helps??

Having a true #1 goalie back.

The argument is that if Canucks trade Miller it signifies “rebuild” and to expect a few more years of losing.  And the young core of “EP40, Hughes, and Demko” will want out because they don’t want to be in a rebuild.

Unless Canucks can fix the D…with or without Miller, I still don’t see them making the playoffs at all.

Demko is a hell of a goalie when healthy and on his game.
He is our chance for success in regular and post season.

Did you just make that last statement up for clicks?  He never said those words.  He said it's a more fun place to be in right now, which is 100% true...

I'm going by a notice I got on my phone. Did someone quote him out of context?

Well there was one thing that became a disaster. It does seem more fun to come to the rink again. Seems to be the sentiment of a few players.

Winning makes everything better.

If Canucks had a healthy Demko playing at the #1 goalie that he is capable of, I would dare to say that the Canucks would be in the wildcard spot.

100%.... think I've said that in at least 5 or 6 post around the various threads...

If Demko had been playing all season, we wouldn't have been out of the chase yet...

We were a goalpost away from potentially winning the cup in 1994.  We were a goaltender away from potentially winning the cup in 2003.  We were the cup favourites in 2011 but somehow still managed to lose even with a pretty complete team.  So, we had our shots.  Winning isn't just about having the best team.  You need some luck as well.

We had a window to really break the team down and do some type of a rebuild after 2014.  Unfortunately, even with some high top 6 picks we managed to screw that up, along with some of the worst trades in franchise history.  So, that window is gone now.  However, through all of those blunders, we still managed to collect enough high picks to draft 3 core players to build around. Which is what we are doing now.  A full rebuild would mean losing those core players that we spent so much time drafting and developing, so at the end of the day we are not in a situation to rebuild.  However, we are in a situation where we can retool on the fly.  Which is what JR/PA are doing right now.  They didn't do much in the first few months but are quite active now and are not yet finished.  I'm excited to see the finished product.  I think we are about 2 years away from seeing that.

Did a compare between 2008-9 and 2023 Canucks

On paper our top 6 F  is comparable as well as Demko vs Luongo

Their core at the time- Sedin, Sedin, Kesler, Bieksa, Mitchell, Luongo

Ours- Pettersson, Kuzmenko, Miller, Hughes, Hronek, Demko

By 2011 Canucks flipped half their D with 2 excellent signings and an iffy trade as we all know. We need to do the same

They had more grit then the current team but we have Hughes. We need some successful signings and trades obviously but not all is lost as we have our core.

I dont think Demko right now (if he is truly playing better) could have made up for the systems play under Boudreau. It was an incoherent gong show in the d zone under him.  Far too aggressive, which led to coverage mistakes and just a lot of mistakes in general.

I think Canucks would be close.

But it also needs a better D core than what we have at the start of the season.  That was an area that everybody knew Canucks needed to improve upon during the summer but management failed.
