Hot take, Isles get through here. Sorokin is an absolute beast and Bo will likely show what made him captain clutch in the bubble, especially with Barzal coming back.

They got a winning record without Barzal - not really sure how, but they did.  I dont expect him to skate until they are down in the series, which I think will happen.

i like Islanders chance and prolly the only wild card that have a legit chance of going thru. Canes are well balance but losing Svech and not really doing anything at the TDL hurts. i think sorokin will shine and shut down the hurricane.. offensively i think it's a wash between the team defence prolly a wash too. but goaltending advantage islanders.

The more boring the series the more it plays to the islanders favour.

All that battling to get into the playoffs, Carolina may be suspect at times and Soroykin could stand on his head and make things tricky.

If Barzal isn't back (or plays at noticeably less than 100%), the Isles have zero chance of taking this series imho.  He turns Horvat into something better than he is (because of their chemistry - the sum being greater than the parts)

Carolina has by far the better team, NYI have by far the better goaltending. 
If mostly 2-1, 3-2 games goaltending is going to keep them around, will see if it is enough.

Canes are a low scoring grinding machine, relying on ugly deflection goals who are built for the old style playoffs. Islanders need a huge bo series to compete. Canes in 5.
