No more drafting Russians please. Just too risky to waste a high pick on a player who might struggle and misses home. Podz has worked out okay, but not great.

EDIT: I know VAN never drafted Krapsoft, but he's a young NHL player/prospect. Same dif.

I want a NA player with some edge taken with the #11

Leonard

Moore

Barlow

Wood

These are the types of players the Canucks could use up front. Gamers who feel right at home.

The same sentiments were said about college players when Vesey dipped on his team. Imagine if we passed on Hughes cause he was a college player. Or Boeser for that matter.

Just with how the season played out there is an argument for all 3 as our best player.  Regardless a Russian was arguably our best player, and if we have a shot at Michkov at 11 they 100% need to go for it imo.

I'd interview him and see how serious he is about coming over, but barring any red flags it's a no brainer if he's still available.  He's better than anyone not named Bedard.

Worth retaining his rights - he wasn’t quite good enough to stick. Maybe give him one more shot if he has matured in Russia after two seasons.

Agreed. Having the option to sign a 25/26 y/o skilled player in his prime in 2 years can’t be a bad thing. We’ll hopefully be entering our competitive window, and he could be signed for depth scoring fairly inexpensively

Are you able to discuss without personal insults?

As I said at the time of the trade, Lockwood was the better prospect at the time, but it was a reasonable gamble on VK's potential.  It's unfortunate they gave up the better player and a pick and it backfired on them

yeah really though, arent there bigger problems than 4th line filler vs failed first round experiment?  Like it's nothing to be too upset about

We should be upset about the contracts for Boeser, Myers, OEL etc.

maybe it's lowered expectations but a Lockwood vs Kravy handwringing seems unnecessary

keeping a handle on things means doing the little things, as well as the big things , right.

Not a huge loss- as we have many 4 line type guys; but

Lockwood was a 3rd round #64 over all, in 2016. played 28 games over 3 years.

Kravtsov was a 1st round 9th over all

the 7th rounder is in 2026.

None of them are playing for the team.

A  former 1st, a  former 3rd, and a future 7th gone, in return for 16 games as a Canuck.

Wait, didn’t half the forum have him into our top 6 as a way to make our current cap debacle work out?

I guess maybe more guaranteed money in the KHL than what the team was willing to offer in the AHL on a 2 way contract.

Doubt it....

Just now, Kenny Powers said:

He wasn’t anywhere in my lineup projection for next year… I kept forgetting about him tbh.

Not in mine neither...

Didn't impress while here, and just couldn't see him get a roster spot.... at all.

There's something seriously wrong with a guy who voluntarily gives up a shot at the NHL to play in that barbaric hellhole. Let him rot wit the rest of the orcs.

YET AGAIN…..one of the most toxic

/ negative people I’ve ever come across!!!

Maybe seek professional help!!

Was worth a look at.  Didn't show much while here.

Did what was expected and bolted back to Russia.

When the going gets tough Kravtsov goes home, how it was with Rangers.

Prima-donna attitude without the hard work (hey does sound like Tryamkin).

It's kind of funny. Watching Kravtsov play last season, he struggled, like he didn't really know what to do.

My thoughts were: he seemed to refuse to play on the farm team (except for Traktor - get it? Sorry, that was terrible.). Problem was: he just wasn't good enough and needed that development time.

I guess him bolting back to Russia kind of solves the problem of what to do with him.

That's okay, Hoglander will take his spot next year and show him how it's done.
