Detroit is in full tank mode, I feel sorry for Larkin and Seider wasting the prime years of their careers.

Maybe Yzerman is clearing a roster spot for a big trade Acquisition? Could DeBrincat or Nylander be targets for him? Zadina had to go.

Yikes...so glad they took him over Hughes. I remember some streamers were so excited during the draft that he might drop to us but Detroit snatch him right before us. We keep saying take BPA at the draft...doesn't always work out cause you just never know how players turn out.

Someone will take a swing at him. Still young.

Does he play any sort of a grit game or is he just a skilled winger who can’t break the lineup due to defensive flaws and effort? Id probably stay away since we have a log jam of wingers.

His 2 way play has rounded out quite well since being drafted. He's actually an effective bottom 6 winger in that regards actually. It's his offense that isn't coming together. He has a similar issue to Virt, where he seems completely unable to cut in and drive towards the net. But, unlike Virt he does work hard defensively.

It's unlikely he's ever a top 6 player, but he has good bottom 6 winger potential.

Where would you put him?

Hogs would be ahead of him in the depth chart.

We really need to trade a forward, especially with Pearson showing up for training camp.

Kuzmenko - Pete - Mikheyev

Pearson/Hogs - Miller - Boeser

Beauviller - Blueger - Garland

Joshua - Aman - Podkolzin

Love that Pearson could be back, very dependable player that can play on the PK, chip in 12-15 goals and is good along the wall.

We have to find a way to trade Garland.

The second line should be Pearson/Miller/Hoglander and the third line Beau/Blueger/Boeser. As the season goes on I see Podz moving up either through injuries, or to shake things up. Garland/Beau/Boeser could be moved as well, either two of them or at least one. We have to get a look at someone like Karlsson, Klimovich, Raty, and maybe Phil Di gets a look.

This is the kind of cut throat move teams need to make. Just move on from players not performing. Stop marrying your picks and acquisitions. The Canucks have been brutally slow to react to underperforming players.

Such as?

With the possibility of both Mikheyev and Pearson returning from LTIR the Canucks would need to free up 9 mil in space to fit them in. Sending Pod's and Aman to the minors will not do it. I am thinking they will try to move both Garland and Beauviller as that would free up 9.1 mil in cap space without moving Aman and Pods to Abby. IMO both Pearson (if fully recovered) and Mikheyev are as good or better than Garland and Beauviller and are both bigger bodies too.

put it this way... in the last 4 seasons (82 games x 4=328) zadina has played 181 of those games, meaning he's missed 141 games in 4 years.

:sadno:

There have been 82+82+69+56 games in the past 4 seasons --> 289 games for a total of 108 missed in 4 years, which is still a lot.
