Hectic
If you're calling the series over after one game, feel free to leave and never come back. well said. this is why some of our fans are just simply the worst
spook007
If there is one thing that I've learned in the 12 years I've been watching the Canucks it's that many Vancouverites are overly pessimistic when it comes to their teams. It's a best of 7 series for a reason. Now man up and support them instead of preaching about how it's over already. This is so true of Canucks fans..... C'mon now, stand up to be counted instead of acting like kids, throwing there favourite toys in the bin cause it doesn't go their way. Tight game with chances both ends... Canucks nowhere near as bad as some of these posts states. Onwards and upwards...

Twilight Sparkle
When you were devastated by a big loss as a kid, did you throw your team under the bus like some of the sandboxers around here? i would just poo in the sandbox and blame the kid beside me. then their mom would freak out and rub the kid's nose in it. things got awkward
desiboynux4lifee*******
Has this core ever came back from a 0-1 series? Anyone know? Dallas series - we lead Anahiem series - we didn't lead but tied the series on a cowan goal and lost La - series we never lead and lost Sanjose - we never lead and lost/ swept chicago 2011 run we lead all the series by winning game 1. Yikes.
desiboynux4lifee*******
Sending down Baertschi may or may not have been the right move and I wouldnt mind bring him back up after next game if players like Higgins don't improve. But saying our offense is lacking is just factually wrong. We have the second highest GF out of the playoff teams in the entire West and some of the highest scoring depth in the league. We have 16 players over 20 points (we'd have a lot more if we were healthy longer) which is a few more than we had in 2011, if I remember correctly. Our offense is fine. At this point, Baerstchi is the only player I see actaully being a threat to the Flames' defence because of his speed and hockey iq. Tonight they passed up so many plays it was hard to watch. They need to learn from Horvat, just shoot the puck when their is traffic and stop trying to be Harlem globetrotters.. Do I feel Higgins or Mathias deserve a 2nd chance? Nope I know what they do in the playoffs this is normal for me. Also, Mathias has been invisible all year after the deadline, I hope we let him walk. Griener > Mathias, Jensen > Mathias, Baerstchi > Mathias.

Speaking of that series, we went up 3-0 and look at what happened...game 7...up series 2-0 in final and?...I know you're emphasizing the cancuks win-loss ratio with winning the first game, but anything is possible... Yikes. I never really put tooich stock in past performances - different team, different opposition. This team should be able to beat Calgary 4 of 7. I figured the first 2 games would be a split no matter what (first home game sometimes favours the road team anyway - less pressure). No worries unless they go down 2-0. Professor.of.Perception
disappointing first game, but i saw some bright spots. ... canucks were still in regular season gear. expect a better effort next game. 4-1 vancouver!
oldnews
The Canucks may have 'deserved' a better result - had the puck possession advantage, and probably the bulk of the premier scoring opportunities, but that's hockey - sometimes the opposing goaltender just has a great night, and you don't get that extra bounce. I thought it was a hell of a hockey game - great tempo - and well played all around. Looking forward to more of that. You can't really ask for better hockey to watch. Two teams with the pedal to the floor for 60. I thought the Jones goal was a mile offside, The Canucks cleared the puck and Ferland was about 7 or 8 feet from the blueline inside the ozone when the Flames D slid the puck back over the blueline....I thought the whislte should have gone right there given how close Weber was to the blueline when he attempted to clear it again, but the linesman let it go, Ferland cleared the zone / tagged up and then received a tape to tape from Weber, who was pressured by Jones. Shat happens. That turned momentum for Calgary, otherwise the team played a great game and there's every reason to think they have a great shot of winning the series. Thanks OldNews, I thought the Canucks were great in the 1st. (Whaaaat?) Outplayed in the 2nd but still was up 1-0. Dominated the start of the 3rd, but tailed off in the last 5 minutes. I couldn't believe the people slagging Bonino, he was at least generating chances. Higgins on the other hand, the poor guy the puck just died on his stick. Had Bo scored on that breakaway who knows what would have happened. Just means we need to win the next two to bring the balance back in our favour. Red Light Racicot
I cant believe these knee jerk cynics... how could you possibly be convinced all is lost after one game? How?! What game were you watching? It was a one goal victory by virtue of a goal scored with half a minute left. The shots were even. Im not sure how posters have forgotten how resilient this group has been this entire year; they have routinely bounced back from disappointment insanely well. Im not sure how posters have forgotten that losing home ice advantage is very far from being a deal breaker; this team has played incredibly well on the road. DuncsBC
It's so frustrating being a long time fan! We play a hard fought game come out down 1-0 in the series and all I hear is were done that's it! We had great chances as well and fell abit short. Nobody said this would be easy and nobody can say a different bounce doesn't put us up 1. All I'm saying is its a long series and we aren't even close to being done! Come on guys this is our board lets see some better faith in our club. We got this still, no need to worry! GO CANUCKS GO! ice orca
Nucks stopped hitting after the 1st, Calgary started hitting after the 1st. If Calgary wins the next game they will win the series, the Nucks must win the next game it's as simple as that.
