[Signing] Canucks re-sign Erik Gudbranson

Recommended Posts

He'll only be 29 at the end of it, with likely still years of prime-time left.

Quote

"Erik is an important part of our team and provides a physical element to our blueline," said Benning. "His leadership qualities help us as we continue to integrate younger players in our lineup. He is a quality person, a great teammate, outstanding in the community and we are excited to have him as part of our team moving forward."

Get that man an "A" -- make HFBoards go thermo-nuclear.

Is that 3 million against the cap in his final year or is that how its paid out each year with the same AAV?

3 million in his final year would be great for cap flexibility as we hit our cup window.

Cap will be 4mill, he will just be paid 3mill for the year.

Cap has to be even every year so Its 4 mil all 3 years. This does make it easier to trade him in year 3 if we are unsatisfied.

As one who started the 'hockey net' thread, I'm even MORE pleased with this. I thought we'd have to go deep(on $ or term) hat-tip to Mr Gud for accepting with this very reasonable compromise.

After MacEwan & Archibald..maybe one more tough hombre, & no one will **** with our youth.

Congratz to EG. Show then HF ****'ers what ya got!

No 4M AAV for the 3 years , just a better financial hit in the final year.
