I’ve been excited about Demko since the day we drafted him. It’s kinda cool to see it all come together after following him since. I’ve noticed he’s been getting recognized as a Top 5 goaltender across the league. We are so lucky to have him

I made a status update about taking break from CDC a week ago. For whatever reason it never turned out. Boredom I suppose. Anyways the reasons behind that would be the toxicity of the discussions re; Hughes and Petey I foresaw as we patiently wait for their contracts to be resolved and the season to start. Turns out I was right we have a Hockey God/Expert in the Proposal Section. Why do I bother? For the greater good I suppose. A balance in the force?
Do people not remember having ZERO good young stars. We have a handful now and people want to blow that up? AMAZING -
Saw a list on IG showing the Canucks and Penguins most injured teams over the past 10 years. Honestly not surprised. We’ve had garbage luck in that department. A lot of grief about certain players snd their contracts over the years but a lot has had to do with injuries. Sutter for example probably would have been worth his 4 mill if not for injuries. He was practically an ironman 20 goal scoring, shutdown center before Van

By us, or by the league?
I think it's a good thing that he's a pillar that just efficiently gets the job done as the best in his position on our team, and when he's on he's dominant in connecting the dots between playing defense and creating scoring chances for the forwards. He can score but EP40 and Miller have really helped carry the mail in that regard, and his subordinates on the blueline rightfully deserve attention, even if it's not positive (e.g. trade Myers, what do we do about OEL, etc.).
Around the league, he belongs in the same tier as Makar. Heiskanen, Dahlin, Fox, etc. but I'm fine if other markets don't view him as highly; he is smaller and not as flashy (Makar and Fox can go on rushes, Heiskanen and Dahlin were viewed as wunderkinds in their draft years whereas Hughes is more of a puck-mover, and his lack of size gives the impression that he's not that good defensively, but we know from scouting reports in his draft year that his way of defense is swooping in, stealing the puck and transitioning it. I'm starting to appreciate that element of his game too, even if it's relatively unheralded).

Just glad we didn’t ship Schenn for a 6Th rounder. Glad management sees the value in having a player like Schenn on the roster even if it’s only one more year.

I’m enjoying the games nevertheless. There is still hope for playoffs (not likely I know) but also gonna be an interesting deadline. Sure beats the heck outta last year.

I've sort of taken that stance for awhile now and just watch each game for only that. I don't check the standings (although I see updates) because "it is what it is". I'm still super happy to even have sports to watch as I remember how awful the world felt when they shut down.

The Black Skate is obviously a fan favourite. My personal as well. However I’m tired of changing jerseys all the time. I’d like to see the Skate as a permanent fixture as the third jersey. 12 games a year. Keeps it fresh and fun as well
