What I am noticing from this game vs Islanders. -Jake can fly. Like he is seriously fast. (Obviously) -His speed gets him into open areas but when he’s there he’s been making really bad passes resulting in turnovers and scoring chances going the other way. I’ve been wowed a few times with a good play then immediately after he throws it up the middle and it’s a turnover or a bad pass off the mark. -He looks much better playing on a different line than the sedins. Jake was just too fast and not smart enough to play with the sedins and I’m glad he’s on another line that works better with his style. -He keeps passing up opportunities to finish his checks. He doesn’t have to finish every one but there seems to be quite a few that he can just crush the guy but he skates by him without a tap. -He’s got to get his shots on net. Been missing the net a bunch this season. -He needs to use his speed to drive to the net. For a guy that fast and strong he rarely cuts to the net, it’s always shots from the outside that are easy saves. I see him trending in the right direction. If he can fix up these deficiencies he can be really dynamic.

Pettersson is playing RW at the moment. If he doesn’t make it as a C in the NHL I’m sure he would stick at RW.

Reminds me of a present I made for my brother for Christmas about 7 years ago. Found one hockey card for each player from the '94 run and put it in a frame. Even organized them into their usual lines. (For the record Canuck Dana Murzyn and Murray Craven cards were a $%#^% to find).

I’ve been a huge supporter of Guddy and I think he was one of our best defensemen early in the season but the past 5-6 games he has been brutal. I’ve noticed he turns over the puck a ton and is constantly caught out of position. I’m really hoping he turns it around but rn he’s just showing that he is big and tough and can fight but he’s not very good at hockey. At least not on this team anymore

I’d like to see Gudbranson given a shot on the power play as a net front guy like Byfuglien was with the hawks. Guddy is huge and hard to move out of the way. Could work amiright?

I think Gudbranson has been our 2nd best d man so far behind Tanev. He's made some great defensive plays breaking up scoring chances and he adds some toughness on the back end. He's becoming one of my favorite players in the team. I want to keep this guy around for the future. Hope he signs long term at a reasonable cap hit.

Who will be our 2C next year if the Sedins retire? Granlund, Gagner, Pettersson, Burmistrov, Sutter, Gaunce, Gaudette? Or trade for someone?

Canucks should take a gamble and trade for Derrick Pouliot on Pittsburgh. Hasn't lived up to expectation but was amazing in junior. Could probably come for cheap.

Do you think the Habs would be willing to part with Galchenyuk for our 5th overall? We may need to add but I don't think they are too big on Chucky and the Habs are heading in the wrong direction. They may need to start a rebuild soon. Their team isn't built properly.
